Make A Holiday Rental Cottage in Guingamp, France, Your Home Away From Home

The small town of Guingamp is situated within the department of Cotes d’Armor, in the region of Brittany, in north-west France. If you choose to spend your holidays in Guingamp, you will be surrounded by some stunning countryside, as well as ample interesting places to visit. The self catering cottages in Guingamp will provide you with a truly cosy and tranquil setting in which to enjoy your time in the area, and all properties will be fully-equipped with any mod-con you could possibly need. This, in turn, will allow you to experience that French way-of-life for yourself.

Things to Do on Holiday in Guingamp, France

The English Channel coast is less than 30km away from the self catering accommodation in Guingamp. This means that if you have access to your own transportation, on your holidays in Guingamp, you can be at the sea in a little over 30 minutes. Water-based activities to be enjoyed in this part of France include swimming, deep-sea fishing, diving, sailing, snorkelling, surfing and jet-skiing. As the countryside surrounding your cottage will be so idyllic and beautiful, you should try to make every effort to explore it more thoroughly. There are also quite a few excellent golf resorts located in Brittany and you will never have to travel too far if and when you fancy 18 (or even 9!) holes.

Places to Visit on Holiday Guingamp, France

Situated just to the west of the town, you will reach the pretty settlement of Morlaix. This is definitely worth at least a half day’s visit and will prove to be one of the best examples of the towns that can be found in this part of France. The departmental capital of Saint Brieuc is located to the east of your self catering accommodation in Guingamp. The Gothic cathedral Saint Etienne dates from the 15th century and it will be interesting to discover how this building was originally built on wooden stilts: to protect it from the marshy lands that were prevalent in the area during Medieval times. Saint Brieuc boasts a number of wide shopping streets and there are some great cafés to enjoy a beverage, snack and watch the world go by.

Weather in Guingamp, France

Although, having said that, the average temperatures will tend to be a couple of degrees milder than Devon and Cornwall. Winter temperatures see an average of around 9 degrees Celsius; whilst Summers are around a very pleasant 22 degrees. This part of France experiences around 25 inches of rainfall each year.

Escape from it all, with beautiful private pool, hot tub and clean, comfy beds

5 of 5
As a family with 2 young boys(6yrs & 10yrs) our criteria for a relaxing holiday means balancing getting away from it all with the location easily accessible from uk - we didn’t want to spend half the hols getting there! Our hosts Elaine & Paul and gorgeous Watson the dog were just lovely and the perfect amount of friendly! We really will miss them and will definitely be back to holiday sometime soon. Our sole use of the beautiful heated pool(essential as Brittany weather is similar to uk) was made all the better as Paul religiously cleaned it ready for us every morning...the sleepy little Breton village of Bourbriac is an easy 3hr car trip from the Caen ferry. We were relaxed and in holiday mode the second we were welcomed by our hosts. The gite is like traditional French farmhouse, with flowers and trees in abundance.. all the accommodation is spotlessly clean and comfortable..we enjoyed barbecues for dinner and lovely to not have to washup (unusually for a gite rental there is a dishwasher)..all in all we had a gorgeous holiday with amazing weather and hosts to boot!! Thank you for having us Elaine & Paul x

A beautiful, comfortable home from home in lovely surroundings.

The cottage was light and airy with a lovely little terrace surrounded by flowers, with its own little path and arch with creeping Jasmine. The lounge diner was spacious with all necessary facilities in. Comfortable seating area. The large communal garden is surrounded by open countryside and is so peaceful. Definitely somewhere I would go back to stay.
