This means that if you have access to your own transportation, on your holidays in Guingamp, you can be at the sea in a little over 30 minutes. Water-based activities to be enjoyed in this part of France include swimming, deep-sea fishing, diving, sailing, snorkelling, surfing and jet-skiing. As the countryside surrounding your cottage will be so idyllic and beautiful, you should try to make every effort to explore it more thoroughly. There are also quite a few excellent golf resorts located in Brittany and you will never have to travel too far if and when you fancy 18 (or even 9!) holes.

Places to Visit on Holiday Guingamp, France

Situated just to the west of the town, you will reach the pretty settlement of Morlaix. This is definitely worth at least a half day’s visit and will prove to be one of the best examples of the towns that can be found in this part of France. The departmental capital of Saint Brieuc is located to the east of your self catering accommodation in Guingamp. The Gothic cathedral Saint Etienne dates from the 15th century and it will be interesting to discover how this building was originally built on wooden stilts: to protect it from the marshy lands that were prevalent in the area during Medieval times. Saint Brieuc boasts a number of wide shopping streets and there are some great cafés to enjoy a beverage, snack and watch the world go by.

A quiet country farmhouse overlooking fields, yet within easy reach of essential shops.

5 of 5
Very enjoyable with comfortable beds and good sized bedrooms. The provision of cooking and other facilities is first class, and there is instant hot water for washing and showers. Robert is a friendly and most helpful host, providing us with fresh bread every morning as well as other items from his nearby garden. There is useful, up-to-date information available and maps for use. One could not ask for more, and we are planning to return next year. This part of Brittany is full of interesting places to visit, and the coast is easy to access although the Ile de Brehat was very crowded. We also ventured into the hilly centre of Brittany to the Vallee des Saints (40 minutes) which was captivating and in a lovely situation - don't miss it!

Lovely gite, warm welcome, thoughtful presentation - in a beautiful location.

Very clear directions led us straight to the gite. Janet welcomed us and gave us lots of information about the area. A bottle of wine, a baguette, jams, eggs and coffee got us off to a flying start. The accommodation is very comfortable. Everything we needed was to hand, and there's a small supermarket with petrol less than 10 minutes away. Plenty to do and see nearby, too much for our short stay! Janet and Mick were very helpful, and we'd certainly go back.
