Celine and David’s house is located in the town centre and there is plenty of car parking space nearby. The house has a well-equipped kitchen, living area and two large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The description provided on HomeAway is exactly what to expect. In advance of the visit Celine provided a package of helpful local information, and communication was very good throughout.
Quillan is a small town, but there are plenty of restaurants and a grocery within a few minutes walk. The region is quieter than usual for the South of France, with less tourist traffic. The roads are very easy to drive on, and the countryside is spectacular. It is not very far from the Spanish border, and a day in the Pyrenees or Barcelona is quite possible. The nearby town of Mirepoix is well worth a visit, and the medieval city of Carcassonne is an absolute ‘must’ if you haven’t already been.
The local people are very welcoming, and most are able to help with a little English if your French should falter.
