                                                                                                      Relaxing holiday in the vineyards

                                                                                                      My husband and I had a wonderful visit at Kiwi cottage this July. The cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed. The well appointed kitchen had all of the equipment we needed to cook breakfasts and dinners. We loved coming back to the peaceful cottage after a day of sightseeing. The serene view of vineyards and farms makes this cottage a perfect location base to explore local Bordeaux vineyards or take day trips to Dordogne Valley attractions. Caspian, Lulu, and Jeffery (the chocolate lab) were terrific hosts. We loved all of their recommendations for local markets, restaurants, and boulangerie. My husband wanted to stay another week so he can go to the night food market in Saint Foy again! We are still dreaming about the pastries and breads in the local boulangerie in Montcaret.                                                                                                       A very difficult goodbye

                                                                                                      We thoroughly enjoyed exploring tranquil Issigeac and the beautiful countryside surrounding it. Maison de la Paix is wonderfully central and, best of all, only a 2 minute walk to a local boulanger for delicious croissants and baguettes. Maison de la Paix is comfortable, clean, spacious and exquisitely decorated. The open plan kitchen and lounge plus garden dining area are perfect for a family getaway. We certainly made the most of the long summer evenings and always dined alfresco. John and Louise provide an excellent guidebook with advice on what to do (and not do) in Issigeac and surrounds. During our stay, we paddled on the Dordogne river, viewed prehistoric cave art and picked up regional produce from open markets. We really enjoyed preparing meals with our market finds in the Maison's well-equipped and spacious kitchen. When it was time to leave, we did so very reluctantly. We have fallen in love with the Maison - and the Dordogne - and can't wait to visit for longer in the future.
