The highlight of our trip!

5 of 5
When you feel sad to go exploring because you have to leave the house, it means it is pretty spectacular... We stayed in April, two families with 3-9 years old kids, and adored it! A lot had to do with the heated pool and sunny weather, but if you like nature and serenity, yet want to be comfortable, look no further. There is also a hot tub in the pool area (up to 40 degrees C) but it was only about 28 degrees during our stay (the promised repair guy never came). The loft has two double beds, one in a room, the other on the open loft. Downstairs there are two nice bedrooms with panorama windows. So the house sleeps 8. The last two beds are in a pool house/bungalow with own toilet and shower.(great for teenagers). The living room is cozy and spacious, the dining table fits 8-9, but in warm weather you have plenty of seating space outside. The kitchen is well equipped and there is wine for sale in the house. We apprechiated the grill (outdoors), dish washer and washing machine. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, but it was pretty far to any actual sights on the lake (like the Esparron village). Also, there are no beaches close by (no sandy beaches at all on this lake), but you can swim from the cliffs/jetty. I cannot reccommend the "beach" at St. Julien, which is closest. It's good to know there are not enough life vests for all 8-10 persons if you plan to rent the boat. What I lacked the most was extra towels, especially hand towels in the bathrooms. Now we had to wash our only set often (after pool usage) and hope they'd dry fast. Soap would also have been great to have included. So pack/buy all your own toiletries and maybe bring a towel for the pool. The drive up to the house was a bit vertiginous on narrow dirt roads and instructions could have been more precise. But luckily I did not drive. :-) You can do your shopping in Greoux (also has a small village market 1-2 days/week), but bigger supermarkets are in Manosque or Vinon.
