Lovely accommodation and welcoming hosts

5 of 5
We stayed for a friend's wedding that was being held locally from 25th - 30th June. It was very easy to contact prior to our stay with very quick responses. Marie-Claude & Patrick were extremely welcoming and helpful when we arrived, even with our very weak French they were great at bearing with us! The grounds and pool are immaculate, also table tennis, badminton and other games available, it's a fantastic little place. The thick walls of the gitê meant that it stayed cool in the hot weather, there was plenty of information about the local area and a fully equipped kitchen. It is a 20 minute walk, or a few minutes drive, from Mirepoix, which is a lovely little town with easy parking availability and a small, but well stocked, Carrefour supermarket. A few more minutes away there is a Super U or Aldi. It's also a relatively short, quiet and easy drive to Carcassonne and lots of local sites. All-in-all a fabulous little place which we would definitely recommend to others.

Wonderful family holiday immersed with French culture.

This is such a wonderful property, very will maintained and clean. We stayed here for 2 weeks late June/early July 2018 and wanted for nothing. Everything you could possibly need is provided and the owners are on hand nearby and at the end of the phone to facilitate any requests. The main attraction is the beautiful pool, we spent many hours here. The pool is totally private and has many sun chairs with a table and chairs and gets the sun all day long from early morning. There is an outside bbq which we used on many evenings situated on a top terrace leading from the main living area with a table and chairs for eating al fresco. The cul de sac is very quiet and there is a small park, tennis courts and football pitch right by the house. The washing machine is a great bonus, and little extras like the bluetooth speaker, great wifi, picnic utensils, plenty of towels, lots of hot water, I could go on, basically everything you need. We used the Super U and Aldi in Mirepoix for our groceries and frequented the individual bakeries, butchers and cheese shops and off course the wine cave which fills your empty water bottles with local wine. The house is 5 minutes from Mirepoix and totally central to all attractions and activities in the Ariege region. We easily travelled to Carcassonne, Monsegur, Foix, Camon, Lac de Montbel to name a few places. There is so much to do in the surrounding areas, so many pretty villages and stunning scenery. It's very easy to navigate with a car, in fact we had a 9 seater on country roads. All the local restaurants were lovely, we especially liked Le grain de sel in Mirepoix. We were so sorry to leave this villa and the area and hopefully in the future we will get the opportunity to return.
