The route runs from Marlenheim to Thann, and includes Eguisheim along the way. Covering just over 170 kilometres, it shadows the eastern edge of the Vosges Mountains, and passes by vineyards and quaint settlements with half timbered houses. Each one is worth spending time in, with the most notable and pretty ones being Colmar, Kayersberg and Bergheim. A number of winery tours can also be taken, where not only will the visitor get the chance to find out a little more about the wine making process, but will also be able to sample a glass or two into the bargain.

Io e mia moglie siamo venuti spesso in Germania nella zona dello Schwarzewald e Baden Baden e quest'anno abbiamo deciso di conoscere l'Alsazia, confinante con le zone già visitate. Sinceramente non ci saremmo mai aspettati di vedere le bellezze naturali e i bellissimi paesini alsaziani. Uno di questi, Soultzmatt, dove abbiamo deciso di soggiornare ci ha incantati, soprattutto l'accoglienza dei proprietari della graziosissima struttura situata al piano terra, ricavata da una vecchia cantina con travi di legno al soffitto e ristrutturata recentemente. Letto comodo, appartamentino piccolo ma confortevole e completo di tutti i servizi della cucina e pulizia della casa, abbiamo dormito senza alcun rumore proveniente dal piano di sopra dove vivono i proprietari da non sentire nemmeno i loro passi. Bruno e Christelle sono stati gentilissimi e si sono prodigati al massimo per renderci gradevole il soggiorno e sono riusciti a farci conoscere ed apprezzare i bei luoghi circostanti. Bruno, di origine italiana e Christelle (francese) ci hanno intrattenuti varie volte, sempre con molta discrezione, in gradevoli conversazioni contribuendo così a farci sentire a nostro agio. Inutile parlare dei bellissimi paesi alsaziani lungo la famosissima "Via dei vini": si possono vedere su Internet, puliti e ricchi di fiori. Quello che voglio sottolineare ancora una volta la cordialità di Bruno e Christelle che ci hanno dato la possibilità, accompagnandoci ad una Cantina del paese, di assaggiare tutti i vini di produzione della stessa, consigliandoci sul loro abbinamento con le varie pietanze. Ci sono due parcheggi in prossimità della casa: uno a 30 metri e l'altro a 50 dove ci sono posti auto in abbondanza e, per le operazione di carico e scarico valigie si può parcheggiare provvisoriamente anche a fianco della porta di entrata. Il prossimo anno vorremmo ripetere questa esperienza meravigliosa, naturalmente presso i signori Nuzzo che hanno lasciato un ottimo ricordo. Grazie Christelle per la tua dolcezza e simpatia, Grazie Bruno per la tua cordialità propria dello stile italiano!!

A beautiful house with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. The garden was lovely. The outside eating area perfect. There was every piece of equipment needed for a self catering holiday. Quiet location but only 10 minutes walk to a picture perfect village. Thoroughly recommend.
