Fabulous gite in peaceful rural setting

                                5 of 5
This was our first stay in this wonderful gite. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and fantastically equipped, both inside and out, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, a real home from home. Although rural it is within easy reach of places such as Samur, Chinon and Villandry and there are bikes to borrow to explore the local vineyards and villages. Plenty to entertain youngsters outside in the garden, including donkeys to feed! A nice restaurant (Le Bouchon Ponot) 5 minutes away serving good rustic food. A boulangerie within cycling distance. Andrew and Jackie have made this a wonderful place to relax and do very little if you just want to sit and enjoy the local wines and cheeses........! Very welcoming hosts who are on hand if you wish to ask them anything about the local area. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Simply Superb- Should be kept secret!

We arrived at lunchtime on Friday to be greeted by our helpful hosts, Shaun and Betty. Shaun is English and Betty is French- both are bi lingual. Our hosts were exceptional from the outset, showing our large party around the spacious and utterly beautiful lodge and explaining everything as we went along. We were soon settled in and enjoying a glass of local sparkling wine on the terrace. We had asked for special permission for some children in our party and they were very well catered for too. The facilities were beyond criticism. Everything is sparkling and new and you can see that a massive investment has been made in this gorgeous 17th property. We were seeking a holiday that would give us privacy from public view but would allow us a fun filled experience too. Parc De Launay did not disappoint. The facilities were, as I have said spectacular, just like a good five star hotel, and there was also just so much to do! We tried horse riding, fishing, biking, wine tasting, archery, shooting, nature walks, and just generally having the run of a 300 acre garden- the youngsters absolutely loved it. In the evenings we relaxed in the hot tub and looked at the stars, glass of wine in hand. We lit the out door wood burner to keep off the chill, and just enjoyed a stress free, happy and completely relaxing time. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, all with a huge television with crystal clear multiple channels. The bathrooms were modern, completely equipped and the plumbing very 'non' French! The beds were so comfortable (evidently hand made) we found it difficult to leave them in the morning. From our window we watch the local bird life and wild life. A red squirrel was a regular visitor- really beautiful and a rare site here in the UK! We will be back again and again....just try and keep it to your selves! We had 14 people in our party, all comfortably accommodated. This also meant the 2 weeks we spent were exceptional value for money too. We have rented many properties in the Loire Valley, but this one simply exceeds all expectations and then some. I cannot recommend highly enough. If you are seeking luxury and perfection, look no further. I cannot recommend highly enough! Jamie Theakston.

                                Beautiful property!

As a family of 31, we all had a lovely time here. The properties were perfect for what we wanted (large family get together) and although the road was quite busy and a bit noisy we made full use of the grounds, which are perfect for children. Roger was great. He opened up the pool and asked if we needed anything regularly, which was lovely. The games were great and pool fantastic. We made full use of Thierry's services (and shop!), with a wine tasting in the Chateau and a vineyard/wine tour with the children, which everyone loved. The treasure hunt was a great idea. He made each event very easy to organise, which with a large group isn't always easy. He was very flexible and did a super job. Everyone cleaned and tided their properties, so I trust that you found everything was left in order. The money for the taxes and towels we used was left in envelopes in the properties. For your other clients, of the things we loved: The Zoo - everyone enjoyed this. Canoeing - we took the whole party on the river and it was great fun. Cycling - this is a lovely thing to have available. We found bikes of all sizes, which was great. Everyone really enjoyed this. Even though we had a few days of rail overall everyone had a fantastic time. It's a great property.
