Great value family holiday

5 of 5
We had a great time at our chalet. The chalet is based on a quiet site in the middle of the French countryside, with a tennis court and children's play area on the site. The chalet itself was equipped with what we needed, including a great terrace overlooking fields with cows in. And it comes with access to the nearby local recreational lake, which has a good beach (very nice in hot weather!) and a swimming area. Days out take a bit of travelling - Camembert is 50 minutes away, Versailles 90 minutes away and Trouville ended up being just under 2 hours away (when traffic taken into account). But there's also good things to do locally, including walking in the Perche and the facilities on the campsite and local recreational lake. And that's why this is such great value - anything like this in a central tourist area would be significantly more expensive. So if you're interested in a holiday in the 'true' French countryside away from (but accessible to) the main tourist centres, this is worth a look.

Great time

5 of 5
We had a great time and loved the gite and the area. Very peaceful and remote, with beautiful villages and walks in the area for day trips if you fancy it. You can get a really nice lunch including 2 courses as well as cheeses and dessert plus 1/4 ltr of wine for 12 euros per head in nearby villages. Would highly recommend it, also because of Debbie who was very helpful and responded immediatly when we booked the gite rather spontaneously. The perfect first holiday with our 3-month-old baby.
