Excellent Gite in a beautiful location

4 of 5
We had a wonderful time at La Panetterie – the gite was very comfortable and the garden was a joy. It was everything we hoped it would be and, with perfect weather, it made the stay a memorable one for all the right reasons. We loved the local villages and we did quite a bit of early morning walking and saw some wonderful dawns. I drove over to Suc Au May just as the dawn was breaking - the view was stunning and I enjoyed a lovely walk around the area. We will certainly recommend La Panetterie to friends who are looking to stay in the area.

The Perfect Spot

5 of 5
Situated off a quiet rural lane, yet near enough to stroll down in safety to the picturesque local village with its single shop and THREE restaurant/cafes - where one can dine at almost any time for a knockout price in the most attractive riverside setting - just has to tick all of our boxes! The farmhouse is very creaky and wonky inside, but was very clean, and gardens were well looked after and so pleasant that we were happy to remain there, only driving out to Hautefort on one overcast morning and to St Yrieix for some shopping. Hosts Mark & Maggie were tickled to see four OAPs cavorting around the table tennis table or rolling boules up and down the lawn, or perhaps hear the mirth from the table in the shade of the orchard . Mark & Maggie do seem to enjoy helping their guests to get the most from their holiday, while keeping a low profile. Hoping to return, Alan, Molly, Roy and Anne.

Gorgeous old farmhouse.

4 of 5
Absolutely gorgeous old farmhouse, really nicely presented inside. The beds are really comfortable and bedrooms spacious and clean. The basement with table tennis is great for an evening. The garden is lovely, we ate out there most nights from the BBQ, and spent a lot of time lazing around the pool during the day. The surrounding areas are stunning. Lots of beautiful places to visit within a short driving distance. Very enjoyable holiday.
