We have stayed in the area on holiday for the last few years but this was the best yet. The apartment is spacious and very well equipped. The outside terrace had a great view of the Canal du Midi and was a perfect place to sit and relax both during the day and evening.
Yes we agree with earlier reviews that the bedrooms are a little snug, but don't be put off, they are only for sleeping in. The rest of the apartment makes up for it with oodles of space.
Capestang has all you need for day to day living and the Sunday market is particularly good for fresh fruit, meat and veg, as well as a good selection of cooked food. The fancy cakes from the boulangerie in the town square were awesome.
The beach is within easy reach by car and of course Carcassonne is always worth a day out.
As a serious cyclist I was in heaven. Loads of quiet lanes to cycle on as well as the traffic free canal paths stretching for miles each way. Cycle to Le Someil for the best choice of canal side lunch restaurants in the whole area..
All in all we had a great two weeks holiday in a great apartment in a great location.
There were 6 adults and a baby. Lots of space for us all. Good kitchen facilities although the oven needed getting used to!
A good number of bathrooms so no waits for the shower. The swimming pool was great although did attract a few insects, but that maybe because it was so hot. Being an old style farmhouse meant that it was possible to keep cool with the aid of fans. The location although in the middle of vineyards is only five minutes away from a few very good supermarche, butchers and bakery. It suited our family very well and we had a really good time
Celina was very helpful and her family are lovely.
