Approximately five kilometres from the beautiful regional park of d’Armorique, in Brittany, the small French hamlet of Collorec entices people looking for more than a sun and sand vacation. By taking a holiday rental cottage in Collorec you will be placing yourself at the heart of this heritage rich area. Your accommodation is fully furnished and equipped with everything you need to feel at home, and the nearby town of Carhaix-Plouguer can supply what the local amenities do not.

That said, in the most popular summer months of July and August, there is rarely more than 50mm falling in a month. The temperatures during this period hover around the low-20s degree Celsius mark. The winter sees more precipitation and colder temperatures, occasionally reaching as low as zero, but most normally hanging around the 9 degree mark.

Comfortable and Homely

5 of 5
Carolyn and Graham were so friendly and gave us such a warm welcome, we felt at home straight away. The Gite was beautifully renovated to a very high standard and immaculately clean. It was much bigger inside than the photos show as the ceiling was high with lovely wooden beams. It was equipped with everything we needed and very homely. The bed was very comfortable. It had a lovely private garden and access to an even bigger garden although we didn’t use it much as there is so much to visit in the surrounding area. In fact if you like to visit towns and places of historical interest, also the sea and coastal areas, this Gite is perfectly situated, in the centre of the Finistere region of Brittany. We even had the perfect sunny weather for the week which was the icing on the cake. We loved our stay and hope to return again one day.

We really enjoyed the rural setting of the property, especially being so close to the canal and Chateauneuf de Faou. Simon and Sue were great hosts making sure we had everything we needed during the stay. The cottage was very nicely renovated and the bedding was so comfortable. Also a great kitchen and has a wood burning stove for cozy nights. We had lovely walks along the canal, visits to Huelgoat, Jardin Trevarez, Le Faou and Lecronan. Wonderful place.
