Excellent apartment, full of French charm. So close to restaurants & cafe. Kids enjoyed Segway hire

5 of 5
Fantastic apartment, on top of a fabulous make up shop for our 2 teenage girls! So close to the main square, where there was a wonderful local farmers market. The size of the bedrooms are amazing, nearly too much space! The old shutters on the large windows adds such french charm to the bohemian interior. And thanks for the bottled water and wine upon arrival! Carcassonne is magical, but remember nearly everything closes on Sunday (apart from the endearing Celt bar) Definitely recommend this place

A month in the South of France

5 of 5
A vacation with two adults and one spoilt cat. First of all the Farm House is fully equipped for the long and short vacationers. All kitchen mod cons available, corkscrew, wine glasses, fridge, freezer, oven, hob and dishwasher etc... Good sized open plan ground floor with kitchen, dining area (4+ people) and lounge (TV and DVD). The house is cool, spacious and a welcome hideaway from the glorious and relentless autumn sunshine. Two bedrooms upstairs (one large double and one good sized room with two singles. This is urban France at its best, a touch of rustic but with some modern comforts. The outside space is dominated by the swimming pool, a magnificent fig tree, along with adequate parking space for cars and landscaped garden with olive trees and other local flora that provide a habitat for the local fauna, which kept our cat interested if ultimately frustrated (zero strike rate). This space is shared with the occupants of the Guest House so you can be as neighbourly (or not) as you choose though our Canadian and German neighbours were a pleasure to meet. Location is superb with the Cite dominating the skyline which is a dream photo opportunity at night, with the town a 10 minute stroll across the bridge and both offer more than adequate opportunities for dining. The Aude and Canal Midi offer cycling and walking possibilities. The local area is rich in Cathar history in all its gory glory and should be sampled to appreciate the unique characteristics that this corner of France has to offer be it Nimes, Perpignan, Montpelier or Limoux – so much to see and so little time. For those interested, a reasonable local golf course (some very difficult holes) with a good club house lunch. Overall an excellent place to stay or use as a base location for exploring the wider area. A friendly place with hospitable locals who are very tolerant of those with ‘adequate’ language skills. Chantal and Pierre welcome you with good grace and inform you of everything you need to know and are on hand very quickly if something should go awry. Have a great time – we did and so did the cat!
