  • Stylish Stay in Provence! Superb Property!
    5 of 5

Fantastic Holiday!! If you are planning a quiet stay in the beautiful Provence countryside, surrounded some of the most spectacular scenery and cultural attractions, then The Residence du Platane is everything you could wish for! The house is absolutely stunning. It is a period property which has been completely renovated with style and eye for detail – the photos do not really do it justice! The kitchen is very well-equipped and nothing has been forgotten with regards utilities and practicalities. We went in August which was very hot, but the house has excellent air-con and also a charming rooftop terrace where we sat every night and enjoyed the view. The bedrooms are spacious and well-planned. We were 3 couples and there were no arguments about rooms! But best of all are the bathrooms which are fun and stylish! St Laurent is a beautiful village with a very good take-away Pizzeria and an excellent restaurant – Le Papet. There is a big Casino supermarket 5 mins drive for all major shopping. From St Laurent there is plenty to see in the region. We visited Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Avignon, Nimes, the Pont Du Garde all on consecutive days! There is also a large collection of vineyards in the area. I would highly recommend Residence du Platane – the property is superb and the hosts are very attentive and helpful.

  • All the facilities for a comfortable holiday for two families, and a nice location.
    5 of 5

We stayed in July as a group of two families, 4 adults and 5 children aged from 8 to 15. The house was spacious and comfortable, with five good sized bedrooms. Given how hot it can get in this part of the country, the air conditioning in every room was a major plus. The garden is more spacious than you might think from the photographs. It is split on two levels, with a trampoline on the upper level and good sized swimming pool on the lower level, perfect for relaxing after a day visiting the sites. The town of Orsan has a shop with all the basics (L'épicerie de Françoise), a bar and a good restaurant (Restaurant La Soleïade). The nearby town of Laudun-l'Ardoise (4km) has a very nice market on Sunday mornings, and can also be reached on foot in about 45 minutes, walking through the vines. There is no shortage of nearby places to visit, such as Avignon, Arles, Nimes, Les Baux-de-Provence and Le Pont Du Gard, or if you like your wine, Gigondas, Vaqueyras and Beaume de Venise.
