All you want from a French holiday in the sun.

                5 of 5
Attracted by the advertising photo and we were not dissapointed. 6 adults,2 children(7 and 9) + one 20 month old and 2 friends from Brittany, looking for the sun, walked in and began a lovely holiday from the start. The farmhouse and Chai were both roomy and light and gave us all the amenities we wanted. Our host , Gary, was welcoming and helpful throughout the 2 weeks and his visiting granddaughters were a delight. Golfing at Villaneuve, canoeing on the Garronde, fishing for carp in a local lake and local markets of course all our interests were catered for. The large pool deserves an individual mention providing a private and continuous source of fun and relaxation. Regarding local visits our favorite 'bastide' of Monpazier (we could sit in the square all day) and Chateax Biron, the massive proportions were breathtaking. altogether a wonderful 2 weeks, absolutely recommended. Perfect grouped properties for great group holiday

                5 of 5
On arrival we were all amazed by the hamlet. We got a tour when we arrived and the photos had not done the properties justice as the rooms were more spacious than we anticipated and exceeded our expectations. The property was very clean and well maintained and the owners were easy to contact when we had an issue with the outside lighting. The facilities were great for a large group, we had a large enough dining table inside when we needed it and plenty of chairs and tables outside, there were 11 adults and 7 children from 0-3 in out party and there was more than enough room for everyone in the properties. We stayed here mainly to catch up with friends to didn't make many trips, we had lunch out in Bergerac and visited the local vineyard and that was about it. It was great just being able to enjoy our surroundings and cook up a BBQ or meal for everyone in one of the kitchens and laze by the pool in the day time. There was an array of bikes and childrens toys provided which was also great to keep the kids entertained. There are a lot of stairs in some of the properties so we did have to keep an eye on the younger crawlers in the group but the bungalow and cottage are good for those families as they are all on one floor. I would definitely recommend a stay here and we have already booked a return trip in 2016.

                The Barn holiday home

                5 of 5
Date should read 6-Aug-2011, and previous to that 21-Aug-2010. Not available in 2012 This summer 2013 will be the 3rd year that our large family will rent The Barn in Castillonnes, needless to say we love it there. It is a beautiful and peaceful countryside location with confortable spacious rooms, and three very good bathrooms. The house is clean, well decorated and maintained. The previous occasions we stayed we found the swimming pool fantastic, the kids enjoyed it so much they used it from morning till evening when were not doing some activity or another. We also made use of the barbecue quite a bit. While we were there we did quite a lot of cannoning, cycling, walking and chilling by the pool. There were two British ladies who lived nearby that looked after the house, and we found them very helpful and friendly.  We have been going to that part of France for the past 10 years for our summer holidays, and we really enjoy the cafes, markets, delightful little restaurants, cannoning, art galleries, caves with prehistorical paintings, Chateaus, beautiful green scenery and the relaxing pace of life, all of that with great weather.
