Make A Holiday Rental Villa in Caseneuve, France, Your Home Away From Home

Caseneuve is a small French hilltop village situated about 3 km away from the town of Apt, in the Vaucluse area of France. If you are looking to base yourself in a tranquil part of France, where you can enjoy all the quiet and charm that village life has to offer, whilst exploring the region by day, then a holiday in Caseneuve is just for you. Obviously, as this is a small village, hotels are in short supply, however, there is some excellent quality self catering accommodation in Caseneuve. With modern furnishings, well fitted kitchens and much more besides, a holiday rental apartment in Caseneuve is the ideal choice.

Things to Do on Holiday in Caseneuve, France

Just because it is a quiet village, does not mean that there is nothing to do during your holiday in Caseneuve. Far from it in fact. For starters, you could follow some of the excellent hiking and cycling trails that criss-cross nearby the village, or take a half day’s horse riding trek. You may also be able to try shooting, caving or mountain climbing if you are feeling up to it! For water based activities, a day trip to the coast comes recommended, and once there, you will be able to swim, water ski, surf and sail. It must be noted that having access to a vehicle during your stay at the holiday rental apartment in Caseneuve is vital to make the most of your stay.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Caseneuve, France

There are a number of places of interest that you could visit during a holiday in Caseneuve. As already mentioned, the town of Apt is very close by, and even if it is the subject of frequent trips to buy supplies, or visit a restaurant, is probably still worthy of a half day spent walking around it. Oppedette is another nearby settlement worth visiting. Itself a small village, its stone houses are as picturesque as some of the scenery is beautiful when viewed from some of the high places. Other suggestions include a day trip to Marseilles, Lacoste, Mane and Gordes.

Weather in Caseneuve, France

Because of its location, the weather in Caseneuve can be a little changeable, however, when it does follow seasonal patterns, the Mediterranean climate normally prevails. To this end, you can expect warm summers and mild winters. During July, the average daily high temperatures can reach 28 degrees, whilst during the winter, the average low temperatures measure 5 degrees. A total of 800mm of rain falls in the year, although the majority falls between late autumn and early spring.

Travel to Caseneuve, France

It must be mentioned, that having access to a car during your holiday in Caseneuve is of paramount importance, and so you might like to drive from the UK. Please note, that from Calais it would be a 10 hour drive to your holiday rental apartment in Caseneuve. The other option is to fly, and for this, Marseille airport (MRS) would likely be the best. A few airlines fly in and out every day, but if you are flying from the UK, then British Airways flights from London Gatwick (LGW) may be the most appealing.

Wonderful property for family holiday in the heart of beautiful Roussillon

5 of 5
The property is ideally situated in the heart of Roussillon. Within a few minutes walk of the house you can buy bread and cakes, visit a cafe or be eating at one of the many restaurants in the village. Plus it's near the small village supermarket. It has a large living room with dining table that seats 10, a sofa and chairs near the TV, plus another area with two arm chairs near a fireplace (not that we needed it in the summer!). The kitchen is small but well equipped with oven, induction hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. The bathroom is large and has a separate toilet. Both bedrooms are a good size and are air-conditioned which was very much appreciated in the heat of summer. So all in all, the indoors is spacious and works well for a family. Outdoors the property has a lovely swimming pool. We used the covered seating area near the pool both during the day, and in the evening for meals. There is also an outdoor table next to the house and a third table at the front of the house that overlooks the road. So with the indoor table, there are actually 4 tables to eat meals! This worked very well to vary the location when we ate at the house. There is also an outdoor BBQ. The property is easily accessed at one side. And also has the benefit of a garage which was very useful to keep a cool temperature in the car during the hot summer. The garage has a very convenient spiral staircase up to the house (the staircase is narrow and steep, but not a problem for us). Cyrille and his wife are wonderful hosts. They made us feel very much at home by spending time to explain all aspects of their house. They gave us a welcome basket of food, some of which they had grown themselves - delicious! Their communication was excellent throughout the booking process and during our stay. They met us again as we departed at the end of our vacation and were as helpful as ever. They really are a warm and caring couple and perfect hosts. So my review is very positive. Are there any downsides? Not many. The kitchen is a little small, but it's not a problem. Sometimes there is road noise from the front of the house when a tourist bus parks. And sometimes there is some noise from behind the garden with cars in the village car park. But these are minor downsides when compared to all the positives. So in summary, we absolutely loved the property and the hosts. And we will re-book when we next visit the Luberon.
