Capbreton Holiday Homes

Make a holiday rental home or villa in Capbreton, France your home away from home. Capbreton, France

The seaside town of Capbreton is a hugely popular holiday destination in this part of France, and justifiably so. Together with its neighbouring town of Hossegor, Capbreton makes up an area of great beaches, energetic activity options and pulsating nightlife, which prove that those who thought this part of France was only about countryside retreats and relaxing have got it totally wrong. The relaxation options, however, are always on offer should you desire them.

Things to do in Capbreton, France

Known as a place where the French go on their summer beach holiday, Capbreton is a destination where the main draw is the beaches. There are two main options to choose from: The top end of the central beach is typical of a French coastal resort, being the home of water sports options, sea-front bars, open-air cafes and some excellent restaurants. As you progress down to the south end of the beach, however, it becomes a lot more secluded and private – ideal if you are looking to escape the crowds. There is even a nudist beach for those that are not afraid to bare all!

As with most tourist-orientated destinations, Capbreton is also a great place for shopping. Branded clothes, surf gear, jewellery and designer sunglasses can all be found in abundance around the town, but there is also plenty of fresh produce and locally produced goods on offer as well.

For those that simply want to relax, Capbreton also has something to offer. Enjoying the sunsets from a cafe-bar or restaurant are always popular, kids will enjoy fishing in the rock pools along the coast, and a stroll around the marina with an ice cream is simple but always a pleasure. Despite its modern attractions Capbreton also has an interesting place in the history books, and those that spend a small portion of time learning about the Basque region will undoubtedly go home that little bit wiser.

Places to visit on holiday in Capbreton, France

Whilst Capbreton has plenty to offer, a few trips out and about in the surrounding Adour Landes Oceanes region are a must. The list of potential places to visit is almost endless, but top of the list should be the neighbouring town of Hossegor (5km), which boasts even more in the way of a vibrant nightlife and has a permanent party atmosphere. Even more fun-filled days and nights can be experienced 32km to the south of Capbreton, in the form of the high-class resort of Biarritz.

A Jewel

5 of 5
We stayed at this property for 5 weeks. It is an absolute jewel. Location: right in the centre of Capbreton it was extremely easy (cycling or walking) to get to the port, sports facilities, shopping - market, hypermarket and local high street, restaurants, beach, canal, Hossegor. Property: clean and easy to keep clean, well designed, well equipped, gorgeous garden, good wifi service, home from home. Owner: very good customer service from booking to finish of the stay, friendly, welcoming and easy to contact if needed. Don't hesitate - book this property - you won't regret it. Caveat: the HomeAway website is inaccurate in the description of the bathrooms. There is a very large cloakroom downstairs with a toilet and washbasin. Upstairs there is a shower, toilet and washbasin.

Great location in Capbreton, 20 seconds from sea front. Stayed for 2 weeks in this apartment, ideal for a couple. Will stay again hopefully soon.
