Holidaymakers looking for a beautiful scenic village in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of Southern France may like to visit Cabrieres. This is a great place to spend a vacation with plenty of things to see and do in the region. Things to do on holiday to Cabrieres, France

Holidaymakers can enjoy fantastic walks in the Languedoc Regional Nature Park and the Black Mountains, which are just a short drive away. There are many excellent golf courses in the region including at Beziers. The village is set amongst some of the region’s vineyards and wine tasting is a very popular pastime here. Just 45 minutes drive away are the beaches at Agde and Sete, where holidaymakers can enjoy the warm Mediterranean sunshine. The south coast allows visitors to find various sailing excursions as well as windsurfing, kite surfing and jet skiing. Sea fishing is very popular along this part of the South Coast with coarse angling, big game and harpoon fishing on offer. There are a number of restaurants and cafes in and around Cabrieres offering traditional French fare. Self catering holidaymakers will be able to purchase food and beverages from numerous stores in the area. Larger places such as Beziers offer more choice in terms of supermarkets, restaurants, cafe-bars, shops and markets.

Places to visit on holiday to Cabrieres, France

Cabrieres has a number of interesting places to visit nearby. Geological features in the region include the volcanoes of Mount Ramus, Demoiselles cave and the River Herault. Tours around the Paul Ricard caves can be taken here too. Canal du Midi and Citadelle of Montpellier are very interesting places to visit. There are several museums in the region including Musee-Parc des Dinosaures de Meze, which is in one of the largest paleontological sites in Europe. Also well worth visiting in the region is such as the wonderful Parc National des Cevennes. Here holidaymakers can visit the Aven Armand cave and the Arboretum de Cazebonne.

This region in the South of France is mild throughout the year but is hottest in July and August when the temperatures reach an average high of 25 degrees centigrade. As well as being the coldest months of the year at an average of 10 degrees centigrade, December and January are also the wettest with around 100mm of rain per month on average.

Travel to Cabrieres, France

Cabrieres is about a 50 minute drive from Beziers Cap d’Agde Airport (BZR).  RyanAir has flights to and from Bristol (BRS), London-Luton (LTN) and Stockholm-Skavsta (NYO). Four car hire firms are established at Beziers Airport including Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National/Citer. Taxis can also be found just outside the terminal building. Alternatively Montpellier - Méditerranée Airport (MPL) is approximately one hour from Cabrieres and has flights to and from various cities across Europe including Brussels (BRU), Frankfurt (FRA), London-Gatwick (LGW), Madrid (MAD) as well as Casablanca (CMN) in Morocco. There are taxis available outside the terminal building and six car hire firms are situated at the airport, which are ADA, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt.

This is a very well equipped apartment. It has a comfortably furnished, spacious, open plan kitchen/sitting room. The ‘kitchen’ has a dishwasher, oven and fridge/freezer along one wall. There is an air-conditioning unit above the TV/Media equipment. There are two separate ways from this room onto the L-shaped terrace that overlooks the storm channel that runs through Montagnac. There is a barbecue and plenty of chairs and loungers on the terrace. The washing machine is in the garage. The garage roller gate and the outside gates open and close by remote control. The apartment is in the older part of Montagnac. The streets are narrow and very peaceful. It only takes ten minutes to reach the square on foot. The main square has a Tourist Information office, adjacent to the SPAR shop. This is where we shopped rather than travelling to the supermarkets in Pezanas. The square has two cafes that serve lunch most days. The menus have a reasonable range of main courses. There is also a Pizza/kebab takeaway and a Boulangerie on the square. To eat out in the evening, try the BK Restaurant, located at the top of the square on the main road. The food and service are excellent. In closing, If you want a quiet holiday, this apartment would be an excellent choice. We enjoyed ourselves there.

Fantastic villa, peace and tranquility

Merlot is a wonderful villa, in a peaceful rural French village. The owners have equipped the property exceptionally well, thinking of everything you could need (and lots of home comforts) and there is very thing you could need for a fantastic holiday. There are several outside seating areas giving you options of sun or shade throughout the day. The interior give a living area, 3 bedrooms (one ensuite) and a further shower room/toilet. The property is air conditioned and has WiFi. The property has its own locked drive way with more than adequate space and is on a quiet road. The pool is great, private and peaceful and cool after sitting in the sun. The property is well placed to explore the local areas and attractions for example Pézenas (With large weekly market on Saturdays), Agde, and the dinosaur park. But also only just over an hours drive to Carcassone and Aigues-Mortes. Pézenas is the closest town and offers a range of supermarkets and restaurants. The owners are great and John was a great source of local knowledge and advice and together they are wonderful hosts.
