A good place to stay for visiting the south Cevennes.

4 of 5
We enjoyed our week in this lovely spot, close to the small town of Le Vigan. Peter, the owner, was friendly , welcoming and helpful. The apartment had everything we needed. We liked being near to this interesting small town.

Lovley two weeks in La Porche

5 of 5
We have just returned from a lovely two week stay in the smaller of the adjoined houses (La Porche). It was just myself and my two teenage children. The house has a lovely rustic charm, with lovely views both during the day and at night when the milky way is extraordinarily vivid in all its glory. There is plenty of space, it is well appointed where necessary, has a lovely terrace setting for outdoor meals, and the private pool is clean and cool. Although joined to the larger house, La Maison Neuve, we still felt very private. The owner Ingrid was very helpful, both during the booking process and during the stay. Le Vigan is pleasant with two good supermarkets. And the surrounding countryside is perfect for walking (pack a sunhat in August), and local villages (particularly Breau) are charming. I particularly recommend the walk round the Cirque de Navacelles from Blandas, and to aid you I would also recommend the Cicerone Guide, Walking in the Cevennes by Janette Norton, with many walks in easy reach of the house. My teenage children (16 & 14), perhaps surprisingly, enjoyed the space and solitude enforced on them (wifi is available but I banned it during the day), and apart from the occasional spider, had great fun. The bat flying round the living room was one great distraction!
