Boulbon is the perfect launch pad for an exploratory tour of the Cote d?Azur region. There is plenty to see here in terms of historic monuments as well as natural features. The Palace of the Popes (or Palais des Papes) was actually a pope?s residence, one of only four such locations in Europe. This magnificent structure, built amid a rocky landscape, was home to Pope Clement V who inhabited it in the early 1300s and Pope Benedict XII in 1334. The town of Tarascon is a mere 7km from Boulbon and a visit there is a particularly enriching experience. One of its most striking monuments is the King Rene?s Chateau. It is an imposing medieval castle that overlooks the River Rhone. Its solid structure belies the fact that it was constructed over half a millennium ago. Another of Tarascon?s historical jewels, the Church of St. Martha, sits right next to the castle. Its unique melange of architectural styles make it a beauty to behold.

The nearby village of Beaucaire is also a treasure trove of majestic monuments. Some of them are the baroque-style Church of Notre Dame des Pommiers and the Church of St. Paul.

Fantastic location and extremely comfortable apartment

5 of 5
We have just enjoyed a fabulous week in La Garconniere. It is wonderfully situated in the heart of the old town and just a minute's walk to pick up provisions. The layout of the apartment is lovely, it is very well equipped, and we particularly enjoyed using the pretty terrace in the evenings for bbq and a glass of wine - such a bonus to have in an apartment with a great central location. Communication with Thierry before our stay was great and Delphine, the local contact during our stay, was extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend. Thank you again.

Back to a second home!

5 of 5
We stayed in this lovely house in 2013 and have since stayed in several of Oliver Bevans holiday rentals. Although the others are great the Sculptors House is really special. There is nothing you need that's not supplied. The Air Conditioning is first class and in the hot weather we had it was very very welcome. The house is across the road from Place aux Herbes and so it is a very central position. Most of all the host is extremely contactable and helpful with any and all queries. Very much recommended, we will definitely be back.
