  • Great little place to explore the area and with small children
    4 of 5

We fell in love with the owners dog who was wonderful with young children. The property was in a very convenient spot, quiet and peaceful but so close to supermarkets and family friendly restaurants. We loved exploring the area, The Parc Du Petit Prince, Chateau du Hohlandsbourg, Wine Route and the countryside with beautiful scenery. Seeing the wild storks was amazing. The property was an annexe with its own indoor lower ground level and then an upper conservatory area and outdoor patio. Perhaps you could save money by bringing your own bedding, but we had already left England when we found this out. It was clean and had everything needed for self catering. Thank you.

  • Peaceful gite in a lovely Alsace Village
    5 of 5

Soultzmatt is a quiet village about 8 Km south of Colmar and on the Route de Vin. The gite is on the ground floor and is very peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had all the equipment needed for a great self catering stay. The TV only has French channels, but as the World Cup football was on most of the time, a commentary was not really necessary. The village bakery is only 20 metres from the front door and there is a restaurant & hotel within 200 metres. A small supermarket is just up the main road. The car was parked in the village square, which was opposite the bakery and there was always plenty of space & it was free. The owners live on site and were available if needed. However, everything was fine, so after our initial introduction and a final key hand over at the end, we didn't really see them. We had a wonderful time exploring the Alsace countryside, villages and the town of Colmar. All in all, a very enjoyable week. Would recommend this apartment for value for money and peaceful location.
