  • Lovely gite, close to Fontainebleau, lovely stay
    4 of 5

This is a lovely gite , really well equipped for cooking meals and enjoying them on the terrace. It was really helpful to have linens and towels included. The garden is fantastic, like being in the forest! Sun and shade and plenty of space and furniture to eat in the garden which we enjoyed doing a lot. For English speakers it's worth noting the "communal pool" is actually a local public pool, not associated with the gite. Also worth noting that the fourth bedroom does not have internal access to the house - it has a separate external door. Thai would generally be fine but not for children. However the gite is not advertised as suitable for children so it was our gamble - and other than this point it worked really well for us. The location is fantastic , right near the forest for exploring and rock climbing, and close enough by train for a trip into Paris. Jean and Jacqueline are friendly and thorough hosts, communicative and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A very nice property with just about everything you’d need. Set out in areas to suit indoor or outdoor living, dinning or chilling. Six of us had a week at Le Vaudoue spending time around the pool, playing boules, on the pool table on several days then walking in the tranquil forests & visiting several towns/villages. Fontainebleau is only 20 minutes away with great restaurants and of course the Chateau with its acres of gardens to wander through. Great place to go if you want to chill out and leave the daily world behind.
