The property was charming and had everything we needed. The bonus was the terrace, and,of course, the tasting rooms next door. Not only was it a tasting room for fabulous wines,we also enjoyed a “Deli sharing platter” with smoked salmon, delicious herrings in a wonderful sauce, violet potato crisps, local Alsace sausage, boudin noir, bread and two types of cheese - the goats cheese was amazing!......all accompanied by delicious wines. Also, it was a joy to pop in there for expresso’s. Céline and her two assistants were charm personified! Nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous stay and only wish we could have stayed longer. The area is beautiful and so easy to get about on the roads. The Route du Vin Is a “Must Do”. Pretty villages all along the way and some lovely restaurants. Recommend the Arnold Winestub at Itterswiller. Also there is a fabulous Super U about 400 metres from the property. Thoroughly recommend this property!

  • Beautiful apartment in lovely town on the outskirts of Strasbourg, close to the German border.

Beautiful apartment on the top floor of a stunning traditional French house with beautiful gardens. Apartment is well equipped, with mod cons such as dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioner, adequate crockery to make simple meals, and wifi. Well furnished with beautiful traditional wooden floors. Very clean and fresh on arrival and lovely linen and towels available throughout stay. The balcony terrace is lovely to sit out for breakfast or in the evening enjoying the views of the garden and beautiful sunrise. Marianne and Al are such lovely owners and made us welcome into their home from day one, nothing was to much trouble for them, leaving gifts of fruit and produce from the garden, homemade cake and jams. They shared their knowledge of the area and advised interesting places to visit. The position of the apartment was perfect for exploring nearby Germany and Switzerland and Alasce region of France, very easy to get to as the autoroutes where very close by. The tram was around the corner and easily accessible by foot, 15mins on tram and we were in the centre of Strasbourg, such a beautiful city and so much to see and do day and night. Marianne is so proud of her beautiful garden and showed us around and gave us cuttings to take home. We had a wonderful two weeks in this lovely apartment and would recommend for exploring Alsace in France, Black Forest of Germany and Switzerland, with the best hosts. Many thanks Marianne and Al for making this holiday one we will always remember.
