  • Brilliant gite and grounds, beautiful area, couldn't ask for more!

Wonderful two weeks spent in the La Faisane gite. Beautiful gite with everything you could need in a home away from home. Kitchen was very well kitted out with everything you could want. Our gite, as well as the others, were clearly very well cared for and of a very high standard, and all the communal grounds were very well kept. Whether it be lounging round the pool, enjoying a glass on the patio with a BBQ, cosy night in front of the TV (UK TV via satellite), or wandering around the grounds and local area, it's a lovely place just to relax and enjoy some time away. Sam and Vicky were amazing hosts with a wealth of knowledge of where to visit and things to do. Nothing was too much trouble and Vicky was very helpful in helping my wife book a doctor's appointment which was great to have someone to know what to do locally! Vicky quite often had an entourage of the visiting kids joining her in walking her dogs Paddy and Honey, and Sam was always about for a chat in between his long list of jobs off Vicky :-) The gite is in a lovely quiet rural spot, but close to Baud for supplies and well placed to visiting the likes of Vannes, Auray, Lorient and also the different areas of the coast. Abundance of wildlife right outside the door, with a red squirrel making the odd appearance in the garden as well as the lizards, with buzzard's, herons and hares in the fields right outside. Lots of woods and tracks to explore right outside the door as well as the small river running along the bottom of the field, and great quiet roads and paths for walking, running or cycling. The kids (and adults) really enjoyed messing about in the pool which was really clean and well looked after. The pool cover was great for all weather's, with the option of keeping it closed or open and plenty of seats and loungers around the pool for everyone. There is also a selection of swings and slides for little ones in the garden. The very handy communal utility room with washing machine was great and also houses a large selection of board games to keep the kids entertained on an evening (when you can get them off the WiFi !!) The fact that we booked up for the same time next year before leaving I think sums up how much we enjoyed our stay and really looking forward to returning again! Thanks Sam and Vicky, and see you again next year! Craig, Nicola, Natalie and Callum

  • All we had hoped for and more!

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at Les Verts Paturages and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property itself, (Bay) had everything that a family of four could need, from the 'oldy-worldy' charm that the cottage oozes in abundance, to 'mod cons' like the fabulous power shower and - much to our almost teenage daughter's relief - efficient and reliable 'wi-fi'! We chose the property, in part, because it offered a pool. Our children are not huge fans of the beach, but they do enjoy swimming, so a pool is always something that we look for when booking holiday accommodation. I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised by the pool here because it is bigger than it appears in the photos, as is the decked area next to it. We spent many happy hours there! The grounds are really impressive and offer further opportunities for relaxation, as well as a range of games and activities for the children. Our son was becoming quite proficient on the tight-rope by the end of our stay! We arrived in France via the Plymouth-Roscoff ferry; the property is easy to get to being only a couple of hours' drive away from the port. Locally there are numerous markets to visit - all within an hour's drive or so. The coast is around 45 minutes to an hour away, which was not a problem for us. We particularly enjoyed the Sunday market at Carnac and the Wednesday market in Vannes! We also visited the 'tree-top'. adventure place in Camors, which our children rated as 'better than Go Ape''! (Tip: get there for a 1.30 start - they are closed for lunch from 12pm-1.30pm)! If a peaceful 'get away from it all' holiday is what you are after, then we would highly recommend this accommodation.Chris and Geoff were very welcoming hosts - always ready to help/provide information, whilst remaining unobtrusive and allowing their guests to take full advantage of the beautiful grounds. Our children were particularly sad to leave, not least because they had struck up a fond friendship with the lovely Bruce - Chris and Geoff's very friendly dog! Thanks again, Chris and Geoff for two wonderful weeks.
