  • Very smart and well appointed inside and out. The enclosed garden was ideal for the dog.

The property is done up in a modern way and we were impressed with the amount and range of equipment, especially in the kitchen. Always nice to see a toaster included. Perhaps all it lacked was something on or dangling from the corner of the hood which I must have banged my head on a dozen times! We were there during a heatwave and the nights were very hot; we had to work out a system of juggling with shutters, blinds and open or closed windows to minimise the temperature which was a bit tricky especially when the mozzies were around. There was plenty of outside furniture (though the table could do with bracing to firm it up). The town is delightful and there are lots of others villages and towns nearby that are very attractive and we found a good network of walks of various length to do locally. We loved the countryside with its vineyards giving way to woods and the woods giving way to open pasture. Further afield, we were able to take the dog on lots of crosscountry ski tracks or general forest roads and paths and even up the chairlift at Col de la Schlucht where we had a great walk around at the top and back down. We don't see black redstarts or hobbies in/from our garden in the north of England, nor do storks nest on rooftops nearby so these were birdwatching treats for me. We had a very good meal at the restaurant in the centre of the village (the first of the two adjacent ones on the left) and there was a good ambience there as darkness fell. All in all, a very enjoyable holiday in a very nice house.

  • Great little place to explore the area and with small children

We fell in love with the owners dog who was wonderful with young children. The property was in a very convenient spot, quiet and peaceful but so close to supermarkets and family friendly restaurants. We loved exploring the area, The Parc Du Petit Prince, Chateau du Hohlandsbourg, Wine Route and the countryside with beautiful scenery. Seeing the wild storks was amazing. The property was an annexe with its own indoor lower ground level and then an upper conservatory area and outdoor patio. Perhaps you could save money by bringing your own bedding, but we had already left England when we found this out. It was clean and had everything needed for self catering. Thank you.
