Great chalet for a family

5 of 5
The chalet was just as we hoped it would be. It was clean and ready for us on arrival. The downstairs is open plan and spacious, with enough seating for our family of six. The bedrooms are comfortable and all have a balcony. It was very warm during our stay - the house doesn't have air conditioning but it does have shutters on all windows which help keep the house cool. The house is well equipped and there was nothing missing that we would have wanted. The washing machine and dryer are great and meant we could travel light on the plane knowing that we could wash clothes during our stay. There are wonderful views of the Dent d'Oche and surrounding mountains from inside the house and the garden. The garden is nothing fancy, but has a decked area and then a reasonable sized grass area for small ball games for kids. My kids were concerned about the lack of WiFi at the chalet. Between us we had phones on UK contracts with EE, 3 and Virgin. All of us had a phone connection at the house, but data roaming only worked well at the house on our EE and 3 phones - the Virgin mobiles struggled to get a good enough connection for data. We didn't meet Alex, but communication about our stay was easy. Bernex is a lovely village and the chalet is well located to walk to the small Casino supermarket, the great local bakery, the tourist info office and other helpful places. As a family we really enjoyed a day out a 'Plage de la Beunaz' in a neighbouring village and spent many days at the main outdoor pool in Evian which is a fantastic place. We also visited Lavey Les Bains spa baths in Switzerland which was a great day out and we also visited Nestlé's Maison Cailler chocolate factory which is surprisingly cheap and includes more chocolate tasting than you can cope with! Obviously the mountains are fabulous for walking.

Everything we wanted and needed

5 of 5
We stayed here in August, a first for us visiting the mountains in summer. As a family with two energetic boys both Morzine and this chalet were perfect. The best part of the day here was opening the shutters in the morning, what a view. All the windows face across the valley. We spent many hours sitting on the south facing balcony soaking up the ever changing mountain view. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The kids loved the den with their own TV, dvds and PLay Station. Morzine was a great surprise with so much to do in summer. We stayed a week but could have filled longer. The on site pool was a perfect way to round off a busy day in the sun. If there was one negative, and it's only tiny, it was that this chalet is not accredited for Multipass which gives occupiers access to an inexpensive way to experience all that Morzine has to offer. However I understand that the owners have been exploring this possibility. Have no hesitation recommending this chalet and the people who own it and manage it, always available to help.
