Lovely house in an ideal position. extremely well equipped and comfortable

5 of 5
We had a wonderful, restful stay. The setting is peaceful, the pool is perfect and as an added bonus you can get down to the river. We ate alfresco most evenings, enjoyed shopping for fresh local produce at Bergerac market and the Biocoop and treated ourselves to a memorable evening out at the Tour des Vents restaurant. There was even a local 'vide grenier' sale at which we all managed to find something amongst the plastic toys and old clothes (eg 2 le creuset loaf tins and an earthenware crock). All four daughters plus new grandchild and boyfriends had a wonderful time. When the weather was not so good we went on walks and although the owners don't recommend it, we swam across the Dordogne (the weeds by the bank are thick so we definitely wouldn't recommend it either unless you are in company and are quite strong). The house is incredibly well equipped and we made full use of the table tennis, the boules and the barbecue. We saw lots of wildlife including a lesser spotted woodpecker, a kingfisher by the river and a snake in the woods. It was nice to see red squirrels too. If you are a large party it's very convenient both for the airport (which is practically next door but fortunately tiny and so not disturbing) and the station. We would definitely recommend this house. Thanks for a lovely, healing time!
