Relaxing and peaceful

5 of 5
We stayed here for 9 nights at the end of June 2016. We chose this property because of the outdoor space and the peaceful surroundings that other reviewers had spoken about. We were not disappointed. We had a very warm welcome from the owner's two daughters and the property was well equipped. We were grateful for the air conditioning and the fans within the property. It was also a real bonus to have wifi which you could get in the house but also sat on the small cafe table just outside the main doorway. We used the garden and the pool everyday and loved to sit and watch the sunset each night with a glass ( or two) of wine. We brought our bicycles with us and rode two of the way marked routes that practically go past the front door. They were very easy to follow and can be found on the Provence cycling website to download. Overall, we had a fabulous relaxing stay, full of sunshine and rest. It is definitely a property that we would return to.

Stunning Views, Amazing Value, Ideal Location

5 of 5
We were greeted on arrival by Chantal, a charming lady who made us very welcome and showed us the single story apartment which is situated with a private entrance at one side of the main house. There is a part fenced private garden area with table and chairs and a further fully gated pool with sun loungers - the views in all directions are stunning with mountains and often hang-gliders in the distance. There are French doors into the living/dining/kitchen with a sofa and table plus kitchen including washing machine and a very large fridge. The hallway leads to the shower room and bedroom both of which are spacious - the whole apartment is squeaky-clean. We used the apartment to drive out daily and explore the hundreds of small, historic villages in the regions plus larger places such as Avignon and Orange. We also visited many of the endless wineries where you can sample and buy at very reasonable cost. We usually returned to the apartment around 16.00 to catch at least 3 hours of hot sun then thought about dinner - Beaumes de Venise is a pleasant 10 - 15 minute stroll where you'll find several good restaurants - our favourite was La Table des Balmes. You will be able to try wines here that are not as loaded price-wise as at home - if you like them try the shop below in the morning to buy some to take home - this was a great way or properly assessing wine as it is difficult to get to grips with at 11am without food! This was probably one of the best holidays we have ever had and we WILL return. This accommodation was absolutely perfect and for the price we were prepared for something far less impressive. An absolute gem - book with confidence!

Perfect Provence

5 of 5
My wife and I spent a week at Vieille Amie in June 2015 and the whole experience could not have been better. The photos on the website did not really do the house justice and we were both delighted with the house, the views and the amazing terrace - where we spent most of the week!! Maria greeted us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. We really appreciated that she had equipped the kitchen with bread, milk, wine and fresh lemons and basil. That was a wonderful, welcoming touch. The house is well equipped, beautifully appointed, very comfortable and having all rooms opening onto the fabulous terrace is a real bonus. The setting is very quiet and the views of the Dentelles spectacular, especially as the sun sets in the evening. It really was the perfect holiday bolthole for the two of us. In all, we were so impressed that we are already plotting a return visit for next year and would thoroughly recommend Vieille Amie.
