Comfortable and relaxing stay

5 of 5
We were welcomed by Judith on arrival and we felt at home straight away. We found Penderff to be an excellent base from which to explore this most scenic part of Brittany. It was lovely to be able to wander around Judith and Jeremy's vast estate including a delightful riverside walk and a small lake. As a professional photographer with a keen interest in wildlife my husband Laurence was in his element! The local town of Lignol is a short walk away and has a wonderful boulangerie with the best baguettes I've ever tasted. It was a little quieter than normal being late in the season and some restaurants were closed but there were still plenty of good quality places to eat nearby. Judith even went out of her way to book us a table at the Auberge du Pont Calleck a 15 min drive away for an evening of fine dining! We had many good days out and particularly enjoyed our visit to Pont Aven and a beautiful cliff top walk at Port Manec'h (Judith's suggestion). Thank you both for a very enjoyable holiday.

Delighted

We where very please with the Cottage in Auray. It was very clean, with a beautiful kitchen, and bathroom. We would certainly go again, and recomend it to anyone. It was one of our best Stays. Auray is a great place. The port with all the Restaurants and Artists. The town its self, with the fish market, open everyday, and a great market by the church, Monday and Friday. Good shopping, and plenty of places to visit, not to far away, including Vannes Port, market day Wednesday, and Point Avon only a short drive, also Trinity le Mer, for boat Enthusiast.

Quiet and peaceful, and not to remote.

Lovely place and well equiped although some kind of music player would have been good. Really interesting grounds and right alongside the stream and mill race. Gardens are attractive although in September they were a bit overgrown, some plants rather congested the pathways around the cottage which was OK except after the rain which also made the decking in the lower patio a bit greasy and slippy but all else was fine. Our only regret was with all that wood about it's a shame the heater isn't a wood burner instead of an oil heater, wasn't really cold but some evenings it would have nice to sit in front of a wood fire, maybe a fire pit would be a good idea. All in all though a really clean pleasant place and just as described. We never did get to try any of the local restaurants but used the Intermache at Guémené-sur-Scorff. Oh and if you need WiFi go to the Library in Guémené-sur-Scorff, up at the top of the main street by the small parking area. Of interest are the castle walls in the town and are worth a look, our main reason for visiting this area was to visit the Carnac area but due to a miscalculation on my part they were a bit farther away than I realised but still reachable, about an hour and twenty away. Good area for walking at least some of the roads, usually quiet, and forest tracks.
