Make A Holiday Rental House in Barjac, France, Your Home Away From Home

If you are looking to get away from it all, then you might like to consider a holiday rental house in Barjac for your next vacation. Barjac is a small village in the Gard department of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, of southern France, and is a great destination for those people that are looking to escape the hectic pace of city life. The best accommodation option in these parts is to take a holiday rental house in Barjac, which is a far more homely place than a hotel can ever be. Well furnished, decorated and equipped with all the mod cons, there is no better place to stay, relax and enjoy this beautiful part of France.

There are many things that you can do during a holiday in Barjac, and most of these focus on the great outdoors. One such example, is taking a canoeing trip down the through the gorges of the Ardeche River, which as well as providing a little exercise, will reveal some of the beauty of this area. If canoeing is not really your style, you could still visit the river, and there are several sandy beach areas along its sides where you can relax in the sun, and take a dip in the refreshing waters on a hot day. Other suggestions for activities to try in the area include hiking, cycling, fishing, horseback riding and golf.

As already mentioned, the river Ardeche is an attraction in itself, and the Pont d’Arc is a place of natural beauty. A day trip or two here would certainly be time well spent! Another suggestion for a day trip would be to visit the nearby town of Uzes. As well as being home to some amazing architecture and monuments, it also has a Haribo Museum, so if you have kids, this certainly is a must-see! If you have access to a car (and it is recommended) then a drive out into the countryside will reveal countless quaint villages with medieval and even Roman origins, surrounded by vineyards. You may notice that some of the wineries offer tours, and this is a great way to learn a little more about wine, and buy a good quality bottle or two to be enjoyed later on in the holiday rental house in Barjac.

The Perfect Village Apartment (Barjac, Gard)

5 of 5
Anna Brown must have a need for comfort because she has anticipated her guests' every need and desire. Taste and quality describe the restoration and furnishings of these airy, light-filled three rooms. Immediate and abundant hot water. Excellent queen sized bed, cozy bedding and pillows, thick and ample towels, the best lighted make-up and shaving mirrors we've come across in a rental, quality cookware and dinnerware, easy-to-use kitchen appliances, including a microwave that you don't have to be a rocket scientist to operate. A surprising stock of kitchen staples fill out one's needs to put a simple meal on the table. We were delighted to find a fresh baguette on the kitchen counter and a lovely bottle of Ardeche white wine, a favorite of ours, cooling in the fridge. Anna was available to provide help or guidance at all times. She could not have been more gracious or generous, nor could the apartment have been more delightful. It is located on a major "place", close to fresh produce, bakery, butcher/charcuterie, cheese shop, wine shop, ice cream parlor and WiFi tea shop, and ATM. The apartment, by the way, has excellent WiFi connectivity. It has a street view as well as a sweeping vista that, on a very clear day, one can see into the Lozere department. We have visited Barjac, sometimes several times a year, for some 15 years. This stunning apartment, new to us, is in a perfect location for enjoying this charming and vibrant village. We are , even now, planning to return. A full 5 stars+ to Anna Brown and this property.

Holiday in Barjac

Had a fantastic time in Maison Brown and the village. House was very comfortable and tastefully equipped. Location was perfect for either spending time in the village or traveling further afield. Owners very welcoming and we would certainly recommend it to friends and hopefully will revisit in the future.
