Make a Holiday Rental Apartment in Banne, France, Your Home Away From Home

The mountainside village of Banne is located in the Ardeche department of Rhone Alpes. This is in the south of France and in an area that is known to be exceptionally picturesque and tranquil. In fact, if you consult any travel guides on Banne, they will all tell you how beautiful the views from this village really are! Forget all about hotels in this part of the world, instead, self catering accommodation in Banne seems to be the order of the day. This is your opportunity to really experience life like the locals and you can rest assured that any property you decide to stay in will include a full kitchen, a TV, bathroom(s), comfortable bedroom(s) and all other facilities you can ever think of or need.

Things to Do on Holiday in Banne, France

Whilst it is perfectly plausible to chill out and do absolutely nothing during your holidays in Banne, this would be a bit of a shame as there are so many enjoyable pastimes to get involved in in the area. Why not think about taking a nature walk or even a longer trek through the awesome local countryside. You might also want to enjoy mountain biking, abseiling, canoeing, white-water rafting, fly-fishing, swimming, jogging and a whole host of other activities during your time in the area.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Banne, France

It is highly recommended that you take your time to have a good look around the twin villages which make up Banne. The most famous attraction here is the ruins of an ancient castle which was destroyed during the French Revolution in the 18th century. However, you are likely to find that the biggest sightseeing star of the day is going to be the outstanding views which pretty much encircle the entire area. Hire a car and venture off into the mountains to discover the other quintessentially Francophile villages which dot the landscape. If you fancy a day trip to a larger town or city, some ideas for you include Privas, Orange, Montelimar and Avignon. The Gorges de l’Ardeche are another extremely beautiful and popular tourist draw in this region.

Weather in Banne, France

By far the most popular time of the year in which to take a holiday in Banne would be between the months of May and September and this coincides with when the weather is at its very best in this part of France. During this time, temperatures are nearly always above the 20 degrees Celsius mark during daylight hours and they can rise much higher than this. This part of France receives around 24 inches of rainfall per year.

Spring in Ardeche

5 of 5
The weather was pretty cold during our holiday week in Ardeche. But it was my only complaint. House is situated very comfortably between two villages. Everything you need you can have within couple of minutes to drive nearby. Also in good position whether you want to drive south towards Nimes or Avignon or move upwards to Lyon not to mention that nearby is very beautiful nature fully packed with mountains and rivers. But special compliments goes to the owners!!! Alan and Jane were absolutely amazing and they deserve the full credit. No matter what the clock was 7 in the morning or 10 in the evening I always got my answers. With very warm regards from Estonia!

Grand gîte, très bien situé; vous apprécie

5 of 5
We had a delightful stay in this gite. Francoise was most welcoming and we were soon settled in. The house, its style, layout and simplicity make it most attractive; as does the large garden with space to enjoy the sun, and if its too strong the lovely shade. The house is especially cool, when you return from a day's tour which is a big bonus. If you are new to Gard there are many places to visit and you don't need to act as or feel like a tourist. We visited Uzes, Pont du Gard (a must), Nimes, Orange and with the festival taking place in Avignon should have taken the train from a nearby town into Avignon - that would be our recommendation. Don't miss Lussan itself, it's a charming hill top village nor St Quentin de Potterie. You won't be disappointed in Mas Chazel.

Hate to give this secret away

5 of 5
Our party was a family of 6, with 4 children aged 8-12. After having been met by our landlady at Carrefour to take us to the property, our first observation was that the allready very nice pictures on the homeaway website dont capture the real beauty of this house. A labor of love of the landlady the house has a lovely interior design, made up of a mixture of Indian door frames, matching colored walls and decorations which make the house feel like a family home rather than a holiday rental. It is very roomy with a large living/dining area of about 110 sq m, a ground floor sleeping wing with 3 bedrooms and bathroom and a seperate sleeping area on the 1st floor with its own bathroom. The garden is, although surrounded by other houses, very private, with several different terrasses, a medium size pool with lighting and a pétanque court (boules are under the bbq) which was cleaned once during the rental. The house is located in a remote quiet area with neighbours which do not appreciate late evening noise. Its a 15 min car drive from les Vans centre. The perimeter of the property is not fenced. The quality of the house is a bit in contrast with the driveway leading up to the house which is shared for the first part and is a bit rough. Having said that non of this is visible when in and around the house. The house was clean and well maintained. All appliances were in good working. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and when coming back to the Ardeche would not hesitate to rent the property again.
