A wonderful place

5 of 5
A very well appointed home in fantastic and quiet grounds. We stayed with extended family including seven adults and four children in total. The facilities worked brilliantly for us, a warm swimming pool and ample seating both inside and out for enjoyable breakfasts, lunch and barbecues in the evening. Carole was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful when we arrived and for any questions during the week. There is much to do in the surrounding area and we can recommend La Promenade restaurant in nearby Le Petit-Pressigny for a special meal, canoeing on the beautiful Creuse river at Le Blanc, walking and cycling around the grounds of Château d'Azay-le-Ferron and the many Château and villages of la Brenne national park. If wine is your thing it is worth a drive up to Chinon and the surrounding Loire-Anjou-Touraine national park. For good organic and biodynamic wines try visiting Pierre et Catherine Breton, Thierry et Jean-Marie Puzelat and François Plouzeau (who has a shop in Richelieu). Baudry-Dutour is also a good bet.

Idyllic family holiday location

5 of 5
We have just returned from one of the best family holidays, the only problem was having to come home - so we are planning to return again next year. Everything about this location was perfect, from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the hosts, who had cooked a meal for us and provided a bottle of wine to go with it, to the last evening sharing a BBQ with new found friends. The covered heated pool was fantastic on the couple of wet days we had, the free wifi kept the teenagers happy. The Farmhouse is clean, comfortable & well equipped for self-catering, a BBQ is available for use, as are sun-loungers & outdoor games equipment. The owner & hosts have spent time thinking about their guests needs, the result is a fantastic holiday location that feels like home. The village location is just off the main tourist route, suiting us just fine, but within easy reach of more chateaus than you can visit in a week, our favourite being Montresor (small but beautiful and with a lovely little bar in the village). There is something for all the family to visit in the local area.
