If you head north, you can take part in the drama of the Massif Central hills and mountain- cycling, hiking, horse-riding and canoeing are all catered for in the natural wilds of this region. Rural quietude

4 of 5
Family of 9 readily accommodated in this house at the end of a cul de sac. Transport is essential as there are no real facilities in the village but the Lidl supermarket in Lamoulin is only 5 minutes drive away, and cheaper than Intermarche in Herepian. The heatwave ensured that the excellent pool was well used and that most of our living was done out of doors. Our particular crcumstances made the fact of the second (fully-equipped, incidentally) kitchen a godsend for the coeliac member of the party, ensuring no cross contamination of supplies. Pezenas and Olargues were well worth visiting, but kayaking on the Orb is only for the young and fit!! We had a fine time and would not rule out going back if circumstances allowed.

Luxury villa with fabulous pool in the best area

5 of 5
This villa is the very best we have stayed at, so much so that this is our third visit, and each time the villa just gets better. A party of six adults yet still so much space, extremely well equipped, large clean pool, stunning views and magical with the lights for night swimming, and so many terraces to choose from. Situated in the best spot of Autignac overlooking vineyards, watching the sunset on the balcony with the Pyrenees in the distance - what's not to love. The area is so perfect for such a variety of day trips, this year we explored Sete just an hours drive away and the old streets of Pezanas which have a similar feel to Carcassonne Castle, a morning river swimming and canoeing at Roquebrun and we always hire bikes from Veloroo who deliver & collect and book in some guided rides with Steve who shows you the best the area offers which differs every year lol. Still so much more to explore. Couche du Soleil has nothing to fault. We love it here and this villa spoils us, we will be back!
