We thought the house was very spacious and loved the 3 dining areas. The kitchen was well equipped too. The bathroom downstairs had a peculiar smell at times and another toilet would be very beneficial given the amount of bedrooms. The other thing that would be useful would be a few mirrors particularly in the bedrooms as there was only 2 in the bathrooms. There should also be a book of local useful information about local and nearest facilities such as restaurant and days that the shops open etc as we were not aware everything closes on a Sunday. Local taxi information would also be handy given the location of the house. The opening times of the Champagne tours/houses also need to be included as we were not aware of them closing until 2 pm on a sat and closed all day on a Sunday. Other than that we had a great time and thanks to Jean Oliver for all his help

Picture perfect!

The property is situated in the quiet village Chavanges. It is safely enclosed by fences and a gated entrance, allowing little ones the freedom of outside. The pool has an alarm around it which adds to peace of mind with the children, (although did take a few days to work out the codes to get it off !) The house itself is fab, and the pictures show it perfectly. It is finished to a high standard, was very clean and has all mod cons. We were a two family, party of ten, and therefore used all the space, but not at any time felt like we were on top of each other. The play area was great for the kids in an evening to play games, watch DVDs or play the Wii, allowing us adults the use of the downstairs. Outside there was lots of furniture and a variety of balls, inflatables and garden games for children. Laurence was very accommodating with regards to travel cots and high chair, and was there to greet us say goodbye when we departed. The only downside was how quiet the village was, the supermarket was adequate- although we used to use a bigger one about 20 mins away, the bakery was closed and the bar was open infrequently. The village was incredibly pretty and well located for visiting many things (Lac de Der, Vineyard tours, Nigloland theme park, Troyes) however you had to leave the village unless spending a day by the pool. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and our stay in the property and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday with a family or as adults.
