Fabulous Villa. With some small improvements it would have been 5 stars

4 of 5
The Villa is gorgeous, very spacious and beautifully built. Our teenage children had effectively their own areas in their bedrooms and our room was spacious with a large en suite. The electric shutters are very effective at keeping the light out at night and we slept well every night. The fully opening doors at the rear of the house are fantastic giving an open side into the garden. The garden area is well planned with plenty of room to relax. However, the Villa is expensive with a very large deposit, and to get 5 stars everything has to be close to perfect at this price. Having had many months of notice that we were not anywhere near fluent in French, every instruction in the house instruction book was only in French. I myself am bilingual, but French is not my second language. The owners speak English, and I was expecting to find bilingual instructions as we have had in every other villa we have rented (which have been many). We therefore had to work out how to work everything using google translate and our basic French. Though there was a coffee machine, there was no kettle, so making tea was with a saucepan. Communications were not the best, we were driving to the villa in France now knowing if anyone was going to meet us there, or if we could actually get in to the villa. Not the best start to our holiday. At this price we were surprised that bed linen and towels were not included, these are very bulky to carry in a car with a family with all the other things needed for a holiday. We were offered to rent some at an additional charge. We didn't manage to get the current to work in the pool, there was no instruction at all for this, not even in French. We enjoyed the table football and table tennis which were great to play with the kids, however the billiard table is not like a snooker or pool table as it has no pockets and the dart board is a child's toy that cannot take normal darts. The BBQ had to be cleaned before we used it, not something we expected to do on our holiday before we had our BBQ. All of these are minor points which could easily be fixed. We hope that the owners, who are lovely, can easily improve on these points (they are new to renting their villa) and if these were addressed we would have no hesitation in giving the Villa the full 5 stars. We would like to wish the owners the very best of fortunes with renting their villa and would like to thank them for a very enjoyable holiday.

Wonderful holiday

5 of 5
Thank you Bruno for a wonderful stay in your house. We had a brilliant two week stay with four adults and four children under the age of 5. The house was in easy walking distance of many lovely beaches that the children spent ages in finding crabs and paddling in the calm waters and it was a lovely short walk each morning to the bakery In the town. The house is well equipped it had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. (The young boys loved the batman toys they found upstairs!) The garden had a range of brilliant furniture where we could enjoy the sun through out the day and enjoy a game of table tennis. I would also like to say a hug thank you for all of the information you provided us with before our journey on traveling to Arradon and finding the house and thank you for your warm welcome.
