We had a lovely holiday and this was a perfect location. Cycling along the Canal into Narbonne town centre was really easy and only took about 15 mins. M and Mme Bedora were really friendly and helpful, even giving us loads of freshly picked strawberries from their field. Plenty to see and visit in the surrounding area including the castles at Lastours, Carcassonne, the salt pans nearby at Gruissan to name but a few. Several beaches nearby and our favourite was at Leucate about half an hour or so in the car. Highly recommended.

  • Superb relaxing holiday

My wife and I stayed here for 11 days in June 2018. The cottage is rustic but with charm and is spacious and usefully equipped. Our host, Pascal, was friendly, courteous and very helpful and was able to provide us with good advice about the area and its facilities . The pool was clean and very relaxing. The docile sleepy dog, the hens, the horse and the 2 geese together with the amazing bird song made our stay very enjoyable. We visited some superb villages including Lagrasse and Minerve as well as several Abbeys (Abbaye de Fontfroide is not to be missed), all of which are superbly maintained and presented and the nearby olive factory L'Oulibo, which runs a tour with film about olive oil production and ending up with a very good tasting session. The nearby coast has miles of sandy beaches. But above all we met and enjoyed the company, conversation and hospitality of several French residents - A sculptor who showed us around his gallery and workshop, a lady who made us a cup of coffee in her own home and even a garage owner who fixed our puncture so quickly and immediately - Thank you all for making our stay so enjoyable and to those whose hard work kept Domaine La Liviere Haute so beautiful.
