  • A Very Comfortable Stay
    4 of 5

This is a great property with lots of character located in a very quiet hamlet. Very homely, well equipped, spacious and extremely light with lots of windows overlooking the surrounding countryside. It was immaculate as well. There's also a large garden with a swing, football goals, ample parking plus patio which would be great in the summer. We stayed for a week and did lots of day trips including to Rouen, Paris (around 1.5hrs - 2hrs drive) along with visiting local chateau/sights and family cycle rides which were excellent for young children - away from traffic and well signposted. Owner was great, very responsive and has stocked the house with lots of leaflets and guides. She was also very flexible on arrival/departure times and allowed us to stay well beyond the check out time. All in all a great stay - just one slight downside was that the booking didn't mention additional charges for electricity (which we only realised when we got home) or an optional cleaning fee. Although optional, it was effectively to prepare the house for the next guests which wasn't really realistic and so preference would have been for this to have been mandatory and listed on the booking in advance. Not withstanding this, would not hesitate to recommend the property

  • Lovely, cosy, rustic New Year break
    5 of 5

We had a fantastic few days over New Year 2017/2018 in these charming country cottages. The big house is welcoming, spacious, comfortable and full of rustic charm. I especially liked the owner's furniture and the many heart-shaped items throughout the house. There were 13 of us (3 families ranging from 9 to 76 years old) and the two houses were very well equipped for us all. Plenty bathrooms, crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans etc. There were 2 fridge/freezers and 2 dishwashers in the big house alone as well as plenty seating for us all. The house has a very cosy feel in the winter. We were all very grateful for the huge log burner in the lounge with the weather being pretty wet (plenty logs/kindling) . The location is stunning and very peaceful - just a shame we could not make more use of the outside facilities. The owner Anita was very helpful in providing information about both the house and the area and was keen that we all had a lovely time in her house - which we did. Serin was very helpful when we arrived and is very kindly returning items we left behind to us, for which we are very grateful. A very enjoyable few days for us all - thank you!
