Fantastic property in a lovely location

5 of 5
This property is really lovely. It's extremely well equipped, modern, and very clean. Being summer, we hardly spent any time indoors - the outside terraces, covered terrace, and pool were the places to be. The property is very private and as there are only another couple of houses along the lane, there is almost no passing traffic. The view over Anduze and the hills that flank it, forming La Porte des Cévennes, is wonderful. It's also only about 90 minutes down into the Camargue and the Mediterranean coast, and about 60 minutes from the Pont du Gard. I would also recommend the day-long round trip along the Corniche de Cévennes and up to the weather observatory on Mont Aigoual which, at 1567m, gives fantastic views across the whole Cévennes. Anduze itself has everything you need and there is a particularly good market on a Thursday morning. It's walking distance. The owner is most comfortable communicating in French, and communications were excellent - extremely responsive and helpful, particularly by email and text. Also, the caretaker of the property is extremely helpful and friendly, arriving within minutes to sort a minor water supply problem and also happy to recommend places and activities in the area. We have stayed in many properties in France over the years, and this is right up at the top with the best of them. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

An extrordinary comfotable stay for two couples . Every practical comfort looked after . An outstanding location with stunning views from the patio. Host (Phillipe) helpful . Property immaculate. Would recommend strongly to any up to two couples. There is much of interest up the road and down to the village and beyond. Well situated on edge of Cevenne There is an outstanding restaurant which your host will recommend . You need to book. Also good pizza joint. Local super market good value. The local winerys are a bit disappointing but Pick Saint Loup wineries not far away.
