  • Amazing, relaxing week in a beautiful cottage
    5 of 5

Our family have just returned from a very relaxing week at Philippe’s fabulous cottage, Field Mitonierre, Herisson in the centre of France. It is such a peaceful retreat and being situated in the countryside allows plenty of privacy, with ample space and grounds to enjoy lots of outdoor activities. Close to the main cottage, there is an outbuilding which has a hot tub, sauna, toilet and shower room and there is also a music system, fire burner and some gym equipment. The standard of the three bedroom cottage is fantastic and the way the property has been finished provides a modern contemporary feel throughout. Three spacious bedrooms with King size beds, two bathrooms, a really cosy living room with log fire and a large modern kitchen with everything you need for your stay. The large garden was brilliant for our kids who enjoyed the lovely outdoor pool and the spacious lawns to play football, badminton, frisbee and racket games. If you are looking for some quality uninterrupted family time, this property is ideal. The small town of Vallon en Sully is only a 6-7 minute drive away and there are a couple of restaurants, a well stocked supermarket and somewhere to hire bikes. There is also a theme park about 90 mins away called Park Le Pal. It has a mixture of animals you would normally find in a zoo and also some fantastic rides to be enjoyed by all the family. The entry fee was good value at €29 per person and all the food retail outlets within the park offer a reasonable set menu for approx €12-15 per person. Philippe, the property owner is a fantastic host and nothing is too much trouble for him. He is on hand if you need him for anything but unless you need him, he leaves you to enjoy his fantastic property in peace. We had some fantastic BBQs in the garden and would often have breakfast on the poolside terrace, or enjoy early evening drinks there before snuggling up on the sofa in the main cottage sitting in front of the beautiful log fire. This was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had and this property come highly recommend. Philippe, thank you very much. The Turner Family London, England

  • Unforgettable!

An unforgettable stay in this gorgeous house. We stayed for five months, with four children aged between 7 and 1. The house is really comfortable with lots of space and bedrooms, great kitchen and large TV/sitting area, a lovely terrace/balcony off the kitchen perfect for sitting at, drinking wine, eating cheese, and being in the moment. The garden is like a child's dream with so many great trees to build cubby houses in, the cows over the fence to watch, donkeys and sheep to see a few minutes walk away. The village is small and beautifully French, you feel very much like you are living with the local community and not a tourist. There is a bakery where you can get your morning bread that you can walk to each day. The walk in to town is easy. There are lots of gorgeous little villages nearby to visit. But really it's the house and the garden that will have you not wanting to leave, I would have to call the children in for dinner as they were so engrossed in all that they were surrounded by. The owners of the house are really lovely and always stayed in close contact in case there was any issue. It was a magical unforgettable stay for us, I would highly recommend it.
