Make a holiday rental apartment in the 5th Arrondissement, Quartier Latin, Paris your home away from home

The best known of Paris’ central districts, the 5th arrondissement takes its name from the common language spoken by the medieval scholars who called the 5th arrondissement home. You will know of the main sights of Pairs, famous around the world, from the Pantheon which stands in the centre of the arrondissement, to the green open spaces of the Jardin des Plantes.

Things to do on holiday in Quartier Latin, Paris

The quaint, medieval streets of the Latin Quarter of Paris, France are a delight to explore, with many atmospheric cafes, charming little shops and attractive theatres found throughout. The most famous site in the 5th arrondissement, The Pantheon, is easy to find, perched high above Paris on the top of Mt St Genevieve, affording visitors some of the best panoramic views across the French capital. There are a couple of excellent museums in the 5th arrondissement, including the Musee du Moyen Age, which contains a range of absolutely fascinating medieval art, the famous scientific Musee Curie and the less famous but equally enthralling Musee de l’Institut du Monde Arabe, providing a beautiful panorama of northern Paris from the rooftop.

During the long summer evenings, there are two absolute gems within the 5th arrondissement in which to spend your evenings. The huge botanical gardens of Jardin des Plantes are a delight in the summer, and even contain a small zoo and the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle is a magnificent institution, with constantly updated exhibits and displays from important moments and discoveries from throughout the natural world. The Arenes de Lutece is an ancient Roman theatre, and the only remaining ruins of the Gallo-Roman era of Paris, and is free to visit.

Places to visit on holiday in Quartier Latin, Paris

If the food, the museums and beautiful open spaces of the Quartier Latin get too much for your children, the pleasure world of Disneyland Paris in Seine-et-Marne is never far away. A day trip to the park will completely make your children’s holiday, and is extremely easy to reach from a self catering Quartier Latin holiday rental apartment. The park is Europe’s largest attraction, and it is amazing the number of parents who enjoy the experience as much as their children!

Weather in Quartier Latin, Paris

The weather in Paris is quite unpredictable. During the winter, temperatures are cold, but the crispness in the air gives the whole centre of the city an enormously elegant atmosphere, and you will never have to wait for a table in a world-class restaurant, fight the crowds for the main attractions or have your favourite holiday rental apartment in the 5th arrondissement taken. In the summer though, conditions are fantastic, with temperatures averaging around 22?C in July and August.

Travel to Quartier Latin, Paris

The 5th arrondissement of Paris is fantastically connected within the French capital. There are nine metro stations within the arrondissement, giving you access to every corner of Paris. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), and the Eurostar Terminal, which receives almost constant trains from England, are both connected to the metro system, and there are plenty of taxis to find if you are carrying a lot of luggage.

Great location and appartement

5 of 5
We spent 2 unforgettable weeks in the Luxembourg Chic appartement in the end of January - beginning of February. The location is great (very close to the rue Mouffetard and the famous place Monge market). Two big Franprix stores in the neighbourhood and a great Picard frozen food on the rue Mouffetard were really handy. The apartment is warm (very important for we stayed there with our 3 y.o. daughter) and cosy and surprisingly well isolated from the outward noise thanks to windows with double panes. All the necessary amenities (great kitchenware, excellent washing machine with drying, decent dishwasher, capsule coffee machine). The bathroom is rather small but not tiny with a modern washing cabin (beware of the fragile plastic door). The apartment has 2 separate rooms, the bedroom has a big double bed with a high-quality orthopaedic mattress. Kitchen is spacious enough for having a nice family breakfast. The apartment was impeccably clean when we arrived (thanks to Jim, one of the owners responsible for the maintenance). Stephanie, the owner, was always available through email if we had any requests. Great impression overall. We will certainly come back and recommend the apartment to our friends.

Charming Parisian Roof Top Flat... Enjoyed Being Parisians for a few days!

5 of 5
We loved our little stay and were able to experience what we dream of as a Parisian lifestyle! It was cozy and romantic! We enjoyed every moment of it! Alain greeted us very warmly upon our arrival. Alain your kindness was very much appreciated and we would like to thank you for everything. The flat was very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. We were very at home there and look forward to another stay in the future. There is a local convenience store where you can buy essentials if needed as well as a pharmacy just at the bottom of the apartment building which was very useful. There is also a bus stop right in front of the building. We had a good look around the area as we really liked it and would like to return in the future for a longer stay - so as information, for a good wine shop, pastry shop and nice local restaurants do look around the rue de saint Jacques by crossing the road. We found a great "pho" place called "un jour a hanoi". If you are the health food/bio kind of person for organic groceries then head to rue Le goff not far by foot, the organic supermarket is called Le detour a la terre rive gauche. We loved every moment of our very short stay. We would just like to note that you have to climb winding stairs to reach the sixth floor attic level to get to the apartment so please keep this in mind as this will not be possible for everyone. There is no lift. You do get used to it but it was a shock to my system to first round! Thank you Alain for carrying our big heavy bag up! We certainly felt fitter even after a few days! If you can climb the stairs then we recommend this place to you!

Bright, Spacious, Fabulous!

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed in this stunning apartment for the whole month of September. Whilst the listed description was accurate, it turned out to be even better than expected!! It was immaculate, bright, spacious & fabulous, with quality accessories & cookware. The location was superb & the peace & quiet remarkable in the heart of Paris. We were next door to Atelier Maitre Albert, a Guy Savoy Restaurant which we felt was the best all-round restaurant we dined in in Paris. There are a total of 7 restaurants within less than 1 minutes walk, and an open market 2 days a week about 3 minutes walk away. We would highly recommend this apartment to everyone but the elderly. Why? The deep bath with the hand-held shower is not easy for seniors.
