The apartment is small and well located to the Jacques Bonsergente Metro station which we used frequently. Two train stations (Gare du Nord and Gare L'est) are within easy walking distance. We were mildly disappointed at 1) no linens (sheets or pillow cases) for the couch that is a fold-out bed; 2) a broken window shade for the main room; and 3) a loose shower tile, but nothing that wasn't able to be worked through. The manager offered to come by to fix the tile but we declined as our trip was soon finished. The size was acceptable for 2 adults and 2 children, but the 4 story stair-climb was a bit challenging at the end of a long walking day. Due to the altitude you don't get any moisture issues as you do with ground-floor apartments. One food store is next door and thus extremely convenient. Another smaller one is also nearby and open quite late at night. Lots of quaint and fun restaurants within a short 5 minute walk (Holy Belly 5; Le Marine; Fuxia; Cafe' Canalleto; La verre vole').
We had a great time staying at Catherine's place. She was very quick to get in touch if needed and the housekeeper explained all the important things regarding the place when we checked in. The place felt huge for the six of us and had a lovely quality about it. The location was excellent for getting around Paris with 3 metro stations nearby. The kitchen had all the equipment if you needed to cook. Overall, there were only some small things that a very picky person would find a big problem with. E.g. one of the shower heads and a couple of doorknobs weren't well maintained, and one of bedrooms was pretty dark. But we would definitely stay again when we're in Paris next time.
