Make a holiday rental property or accommodation in Egypt your home away from home

You will almost certainly already know a huge amount about Egypt. Images of the Sphinx, the Nile and Egypt’s pyramids are globally recognised, although seeing them up close and personal on a holiday to Egypt is an unbeatable experience. There are many centuries of history, art and architecture to be investigated in Egypt; Ancient Egypt’s monuments are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to world class attractions to discover on an Egyptian holiday.

Things to do on holiday in Egypt

Not even a rough guide to Egypt would be complete without mention of the awe-inspiring monuments of Ancient Egypt. Pyramids are an archetypal image of Ancient Egypt, and which ever Egypt accommodation you take, a trip to the only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the World is essential. The Pyramids of Giza and the adjacent Sphinx make a simply jaw-dropping spectacle. Of course, there are swarms of tourists in the area, but not even the loudest of tour groups could reduce the amazement you will feel. Riding (on either horse or camel) around the site is a great way to avoid the crowds and get an atmospheric tour of Egypt’s prime tourist location.

More recent monuments are as beautiful, although somehow not as impressive. The Temples of Karnak, the Pyramids of Dahshur and Abu Simbel all live up to expectations and more. However, holidays to Egypt are not all about ancient monuments and inspiring scenery. Taking property in Egypt means you can enjoy desert trekking, exceptional scuba diving in Egypt’s Red Sea and magnificent Nile cruises in Egypt’s finest wildlife areas, which hug the banks of the river, providing the habitat for many species of exotic birds. Bird watching and golf holidays are beginning to thrive from property in Egypt too.

Nile cruises in Egypt are a perfect way for a first time visitor to accommodation in Egypt to see a cross section of this amazing country. There are temples and tombs located along many stretches of the Nile, but almost more importantly, a Nile cruise allows you to understand a little about the real Egypt, in its modern glory.

Recently there has been a change in focus for holidays to Egypt. Those who travel to Egypt are now discovering the many magnificent beach resorts which line the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. There are some exceptional beach holidays to Egypt to take, and for those with an interest in scuba diving, take a property in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula or anywhere on the Red Sea coastline.

Places to visit on holiday in Egypt

Cairo has a little of everything you could wish for. Egypt accommodation in Cairo is perfect for the first time visitor, offering exceptional entertainment, monuments from throughout Egypt’s history, golf courses, world class restaurants and great transport networks.

Weather in Egypt

Throughout the year, you will bask in hot, dry weather conditions when you take accommodation in Egypt. In the Egyptian winter (from December until February), daily temperatures hover around 22°C, and in the middle of the coldest night, temperatures will not dip below 8°C! In the summer months, temperatures in the middle of the country have been known to hit 50°C, but the coastal regions are much cooler, reaching around 32°C.

Travel to Egypt

Cairo is no longer Egypt’s only entry point from the UK. There are great regional airports which receive direct flights to Egypt from the UK, so it is worth finding out the exact location of your Egypt accommodation before researching your flight to Egypt.

What a amazing experience!!

5 of 5
Our family of 5 have had a wonderful stay in this most gloriously designed and well facilitated property. Riverbank is a subtle icon in its own right, located right on the bank of the Nile (opposite King Farook's Winter Palace and the Ancient Luxor Temple itself). The views from the roof terrace and the first floor of the Nile are wonderful, we spent most mornings from 5am onwards watching the sun rise, the early fishermen in their little rowboats and the hot air balloons rising above this calm arterial river. Turn around to look to the rear of The Riverbank and you see the stunning views of the desert mountains, Valley of the Queens, the village, the banana plantations. So much greenery met by the dry desert mountains in the distance. Really Stunning! Everything was perfect during our 4 week stay, I realise that this is a 'statement' but Khyry who takes care of the guests was waiting at Luxor airport with an a/c vehicle and a meal waiting for us at the villa. Khyry understands hospitality, but he offers this naturally and genuinely. He is now a friend, whom I would l hope to keep in touch with. Highly recommended are the optional meals that were offered to us purely as an additional service for our convenience. Mehmood is an excellent chef with lots of experience and culinary ideas and Saeed his assistant was always on the ready to help, accommodating in every way. Overall a great trip in a great villa which is superbly placed to explore Luxor and enjoy its greatest asset the Nile. Oh and I can't forget the new swimming pool in its own grounds and facilities also the local stables for very affordable horse riding. The Dahabiyah cruise, which is also available is out of this world, tranquil, mystical sailing from Luxor to Aswan with historic temple and site stops at Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Silsila Island ending in Aswan. I could go on.... :-) Thank you Christopher, Pamela, Khyry and his team.
