Things to do

-Beaches: The beaches on the Slatine coastline are mostly pebbly, nevertheless they provide a great place for family fun with shallow waters safe for children to swim in. Apart from being able to swim and sunbathe, visitors will want to explore the lagoons and cliffs that dot the coastline.

-Food and drink: For excellent local cuisine holidaymakers should head to Neverin, a restaurant situated in the heart of Slatine. Here they’ll be served finger-licking traditional Croat seafood specialities helped down with local wine or their favourite brand of beer. There are also pizzerias where hungry tourists can tuck into different kinds of pizza.

-Monuments: Only 8km away from Slatine is the touristy town of Trogir which is home to a number of ancient buildings such as the Cathedral of St. Lovro which was built between the 13th and 15th centuries. It contains some beautifully sculpted figurines depicting different characters from both the Old and New Testaments of the bible.

-Museum: While still in Trogir holidaymakers should make a point of visiting the town museum before returning to their holiday apartments in Slatine. This institution is found along Kohl-Genscher and is housed in what was formerly the Garanjin-Fanfogna Palace. Among the exhibits visitors can expect to see are drawings, books and costumes used by the Trogir inhabitants of yore.

Spectacular

This villa is amazing. It is a fantastic, modern design, beautifully furnished and really well equipped. The views are stunning and the roof terrace is the icing on the cake. The owners are lovely, and couldn’t be more helpful. We had an amazing holiday and we would come back tomorrow. I could not recommend this villa highly enough.

Perfect

5 of 5
We had SUCH a happy week at Villa Demer. Many many thanks to Frane, who was very friendly and helpful, from the minute we booked to the minute we left. A thoroughly nice chap & a thoughtful host. Villa Demer is really well designed, particularly the garden. Lots of shady places. Nice big table and super-handy outdoor kitchen. The pool is wonderful. The whole place is immaculately clean, inside and out. The location couldn't have been better for us: - only 15 minutes taxi ride from the airport (thanks to the new bridge connecting Ciovo to the mainland) - beach (& bar) just one minute walk away (cross the road & you're there) - a couple of minutes walk to the nearest Tommy's (Croatian grocery store) We really liked the friendly beach bar & had several happy evenings there. The kids played air hockey and boules, or played in the trees & on the beach, while the adults relaxed with a drink. Pizza and seafood, good prices. We also enjoyed walking round the coast to the heart of Slatine, where we had a couple of good meals by the harbour, and also got the boat to Trogir for a really lovely evening out (taxi back to the villa very reasonable price). The road is not good for walking to Slatine harbour (no pavement), but there are plenty of buses. Or do as we did and walk along the beach and up onto a rough track (and a final steep walk). It's not far, & is a fun walk with good views and a couple of nice quiet swimming spots. We can't wait to return.
