One of the most visited tourist destinations in Croatia is Dubrovnik, on the Dalmatian Coast. This area is known for its beautiful beaches from which tourists can enjoy the abundant summer sunshine and frolic about in the Adriatic Sea. The old town is a particular favourite for holidaymakers as it is replete with amazing monuments and poignant reminders of Dubrovnik’s cultural heritage. -Museums: Tourists residing in holiday homes in Ploce, especially those with an interest in art, will not mind making their way to Dubrovnik’s Museum of Modern Art. It is a short walk from the city centre and boasts a wide array of exhibits, including a moving collection of war photographs. For more of the war images a visit to the Museum of Croatian War of Independence, also within Dubrovnik, is recommended.

-Beaches: There are two beaches that are simply a must-visit while in the Dalmatian Coast. One is Sveti Jakov Beach which is a favourite with the locals and is usually more secluded. It is an excellent spot to pull up a lounge chair and soak up the rays while admiring the clear waters of the Adriatic. The other beach is Banje, and beautiful as it is, it tends to get a bit crowded. However, it is where most water sports here happen.

-Water sports: The waters off Banje are the venue for a host of exciting water sports. One of these is sea kayaking, for which visitors can get gear and a boat from nearby associations. Those who wish can also go parasailing can do so, but many visitors prefer to take advantage of the crystal clear waters here to go on snorkelling expeditions to discover the abundant sea life underneath the surface.

-Cultural events: Visitors who book holiday apartments in Ploce for the summer will not want to miss the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, a 47-day extravaganza featuring a variety of shows. Theatrical performances, classical music concerts and other artistic shows are held day and night for the duration of the event and there is never a dull moment.

Weather in Ploce

And that is exactly what they’ll get as temperatures during this time of year range between 25 and 29°C on average. It is warm and dry and visitors probably won’t experience any rainfall during their time in Ploce holiday homes. Travel to Ploce

Sitting just 9 miles from the Dubrovnik Airport, visitors jetting into this area will find little trouble getting to their holiday homes in Ploce. From the passenger terminal they will be able to find the shuttle to Dubrovnik city centre with ease. From there they will easily get a bus from the bus station as there is one that arrives every hour. The journey takes not more than two and a half hours. The taxi rank is also conveniently located close to the passenger terminal for them to find a cab to their place of residence.

Excellent apartment with wonderful sea views

Perfectly located for walking into the Old City and met our needs of our family in full. Rebecca, the owner, both knows all there is to know about the area and happy to help in every way. If you are self catering there is a small local supermarket that will meet most of your requirements or if you prefer to eat out there is an abundance of restaurants to choose from. The City Wall is a must do and we especially enjoyed a sail to Cavcat for lunch.
