Things to do

-Beaches. Within ten minutes is the attractive pebble beach at Mlini, which offers clear, shallow waters and is great for swimming. Meanwhile around 10 kilometres up the coast is the Lapad Peninsula, which home to attractive sandy and pebble beaches served by restaurants and cafes. Closer to Dubrovnik is Banje Beach, which offers lovely views of the city walls.

-Museums. Among a number of fascinating museums in Dubrovnik is the Synagogue and Jewish Museum – it’s the second-oldest still in use today, and dates to the mid-1500s. The Maritime Museum is also interesting, and houses a collection of artefacts and memorabilia relating to the city’s long seafaring tradition.

-Nature. Just in from the coast you’ll be able to enjoy some lovely walks. The summit of Mount Srd sits 400 metres above Dubrovnik and offers views of the city and Adriatic. On the water you can hire a boat or charter a yacht in Dubrovnik, which would afford the freedom to explore the islands that sit just off the coast.

-Old town and churches. Dubrovnik’s old town is a must-see for anyone holidaying in Celopeci. It’s home to wonderfully-reserved medieval architecture including the Gothic Sponza Palace and the Rector’s Palace. Stunning religious buildings in Dubrovnik include the Franciscan Monastery, and the church of St. Sebastian from the 1400s.

-City walls. Dubrovnik’s historic city walls are an attraction in their own right, and extend for two kilometres around the old town. A great way to experience the city is to walk along the battlements for fabulous views. The walls also encompass the medieval forts St. John, Fort Bokar and Fort Minceta, all of which are perfectly intact.

Weather in Celopeci

Visiting a beach apartment in Celopeci you can expect typical Mediterranean weather, which makes for warm and dry summers that can last for around five months. The hottest months are July and August, when temperatures regularly get above thirty degrees and when there’s almost no rain. Early-summer is also very pleasant, with highs in the mid-20s around May. Winter conditions are usually mild, with highs that get up to the low teens during the day in January, and a little more rainfall.

Travel to Celopeci

Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is the most convenient way to get to Celopeci holiday villas, and can be reached from across Europe and a number of airports in the UK. Celopeci sits between the city of Dubrovnik and the airport, and the various shuttle buses that serve the airport passes close by the area. Alternatively you could take a taxi, and if you’re renting a car then the 8 motorway runs pretty much the length of the journey to and from the airport. Another way to reach Celopeci from abroad is by ferry, with connections between Dubrovnik and the Italian city of Bari.

Dubrovnik haven

5 of 5
My husband, I and our three boys returned yesterday after a lovely week in Apartment Kate. The views are stunning, so nice to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine watching the boats and kayaks go past. We walked into the old city once or twice a day and the walk is very pleasant with views of the water and not too arduous. We found the closest beach the best for snorkelling, and although I was a little daunted by the steps it was actually fine. We visited the island of Lokrum for a day and it was lovely to sit in the cafe shaded by trees while looking out to sea. The three boys had two singles side by side and an extra bed was put in the room, which I had asked Kate if this was possible prior to booking. The room had plenty of space and storage and they were comfortable. The master bed is huge and has a window opening up to the coast. The only suggestion I would make is to have air con in this room, but we were there during a heat wave and there was a fan that helped us sleep. When we return to Dubrovnik, I would be delighted if Kate could accommodate us again as the apartment is in a beautiful part of town and Kate was a fantastic host.
