And forming the backdrop is unspoiled pine forest behind which stand Dalmatia’s famous mountains.

-Watersports. -Outdoor activities. Directly inland from Baska Voda is Biokovo Mountain, which is protected as part of a natural park, and serves as an ideal hiking destination for anyone with a taste for adventure. Rafting and kayaking are also made possible nearby, along the spectacular Cetina River, known for its impressive canyon.

-Omis. The town of Omis is a short drive west along the coast and is found in a dramatic setting. It sits at the mouth of the Cetina River and in the background stand the sheer cliffs of the river’s canyon. Sights to take in here include St Peter’s Church, which is pre-Romanesque and dates to the 900s.

-Split. Split is about 45 minutes northwest in the car, and is home to an important UNESCO World Heritage Site. Diocletian’s Palace is regarded as one of the best examples of Roman architecture anywhere and visitors can now explore the preserved remnants of its basement. Elsewhere St Duje’s Cathedral dates to the 4th Century, making it the world’s oldest.

Homely, spacious and very clean

Delightful, safe, relaxing, family friendly is how my husband and I would describe this wonderful seaside resort with its many restaurants of fine food and wine where you could sit indoors or outside in the warm air. A full day boat trip to Omish was a fun way to take in the beautiful sights and meet new friends. Our accommodation was excellent and very well maintained. Definitely a place we would return to.

A really lovely villa, in a good location for exploring or for just sitting by the pool.

This is a great villa. Probably the best we have stayed in. The views from the house and garden are simply beautiful, picture post card stuff. It's looks exactly like it does on the photos. Beds very comfortable, as is the lounge. Air con in lounge and bedrooms. Very well equipped kitchen. The small infinity pool is big enough for the kids to mess about in and really lovely to sit by, but not designed for the serious swimmer. The outside space at this villa is its best bit. Lots of terraces for the family to spread out over and always some shade. The outdoor kitchen is great to practice your bbq skills on. 2 well stocked Supermarkets about 2km away. Baska Voda has all kinds of different eating options and a beach. All beaches in the area are small, stoney and very crowded. Snorkelling in Brela was lots of fun. Bring rock shoes! This place was perfect for us, but those with very small children or family members with mobility issues should think twice. The whole place is spread over 7 different levels. With some open spiral staircases. Finally you need to be awAre that the approach road to the tunnel is directly under the property. Look in the photos and you will see it. This really was not a problem for us. We live in an urban area and the noise from this road was no more than we are used to. However if you did not realise it was there you may be disappointed on arrival. Oh and Dado the owner is fabulously helpful, including texting us about the weather changing significantly over night. In conclusion, great villa... Go for it.
