Make A Holiday Rental House in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands, Your Home Away From Home

If you are thinking of visiting an island paradise for your next vacation, then it would certainly be hard to beat a holiday in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands. Situated in the Caribbean Sea, it is a small enough place that during your vacation, you will probably see everybody on the island at least once! It is the atypical Caribbean island with its sandy beaches, palm trees and laid back way-of-life. Self catering accommodation in Cayman Brac gives you the chance to experience what it is like living on one of the world’s most beautiful and peaceful islands, whilst all the time, being surrounded by all the mod-cons that make life comfortable.

Things to Do on Holiday in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands

One of the main attractions of a holiday in Cayman Brac, is the opportunity to do some diving in crystal clear waters. There are some wonderful places to scuba dive, and there is even a Soviet era ship that can be dived down to. If you do not have the required knowledge to dive, then never fear, you can always take lessons when there. Other activities include cycling, which is a great way to see the island, climbing, caving and of course the ever popular sunbathing with a glass of rum in your hand!

Places to Visit on Holiday in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands

Because it is such a small island, major tourist attractions are not really worth listing – after all, the island IS a tourist attraction by itself! That said, a visit to Rebecca’s cave could be taken not only to explore the cave, but to see the grave of a girl who became lost sheltering from a hurricane many years ago. There are also walking trails throughout the island, where you will discover new beaches and bays. A holiday in Cayman Brac is more about soaking up the sun, swimming and relaxing, than visiting anywhere in particular. Of course, there are still endless photo opportunities, so make sure your storage cards have enough space!

Weather in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands

Cayman Brac, along with the rest of the Cayman Islands, has a tropical marine climate. This basically means that it has a dry season and a wet season. The wet season also is known as hurricane or cyclone season, and travel to the islands during this period is not advised. From November to April, however, expect temperatures to be consistently above 20 degrees Celsius, more often than not peaking at 30 degrees during the hottest part of the day. Rainfall during this period is minimal.

Travel to Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands

Travellers seeking to fly to their holiday rental house in Cayman Brac from the UK will have to use two flights. The first one would be a British Airways flight from London Heathrow (LHR) into Grand Cayman (GCM). From there, a small plane would need to be taken to Cayman Brac Airport (CYB).

Intimate luxury

5 of 5
For context, we are a boomer-age, scuba diving couple who have traveled to St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Vieques, Barbardos, numerous Bahamian islands, Fiji, Tahiti, as well as various locales in western Europe. One of us has been coming to the Brac for 20+ years, the other for 8. We seek accommodations with character that are also comfortable to live in and appealing to our sense of aesthetic. This visit to Cayman Brac was 15 months after Hurricane Paloma, and we found the house and the island to be in astonishingly good shape -- a testament to the resiliency, resolve and character of Brackers. This house is a gem. You enjoy enormous privacy, yet are within three minutes of two markets and less than 10 minutes from dive operators. The sea view is magnificent from the house and deck, and the covered, seaside hammock hut is perfect for shady reading and dozing. The house itself is beautifully furnished with "real" furniture rather than indestructible patio furniture, including area rugs and artwork, so you feel like you're in a home instead of a sterile rental. Being a house on the north side, the upper-level open deck is largely shaded by the house. This is valuable for temperature and sun protection. Sliding doors in the living room and master bedroom open to the deck, which is furnished with lounges, a table and chairs. The king bed in the master is comfortable, the upstairs bath has an adult-height sink and counter top, plus drawers and cupboards where you can easily store your stuff instead of balancing it on the toilet tank top or worse, the floor. The tub-shower has good water pressure. The "L-shaped" layout of the kitchen, dining area and living room provides cross ventilation (also a/c), lots of light, and a sense of togetherness mixed with some visual privacy. We did a lot of cooking, and all appliances were modern and fully functional. There's wired internet access in the living room in case, like one of us, life without The New York Times is not worth living (you provide the computer). The house "comes with" a local manager, who is top notch. He'll store some basic groceries for you in advance (when you request), meet you at the airport and take you to the house, show you the ropes, and is available to quickly respond to any request for assistance or information.
