San Juan de la Rambla is a town with just over 5,000 inhabitants, situated on the northern coast of the island of Tenerife. This can be found in the centre of the island and is dominated by the imposing dormant volcano which is what the park is named after. For those needing some extra help, there is a cable car that will take you speedily up to the summit. Tenerife enjoys an equitable climate all year: summers see temperatures hitting an average of around 27 degrees Celsius and even during the winter months, you will only see a drop to around 21 degrees. Rainfall rarely poses a significant problem on Tenerife, with a mere 8 inches per year.

Travel to San Juan de la Rambla

Travellers on their holidays in San Juan de la Rambla will arrive at Tenerife South Island (TFS), which is around 50 miles south of the town. This airport is the busiest on the island and has the best connections with the UK. You can choose to fly from a number of airports, including Glasgow (GLA), Birmingham (BHX), London Luton (LTN) and Bristol (BRS). For cheap and frequent services, year round, you can fly with airlines such as Monarch, Thomas Cook Airways, Jet2 and easyJet.

Quiet Charming Stay in a very well equipped Villa

Stayed for 10 nights over the Easter break. Property is nicely situated in a quiet cul de sac, with a wonderful terrace at the back overlooking the sea, and stunning views of Teide from the front. The pictures don't really do it justice. The quiet and very Spanish beach of San Marcos is a five minute walk downhill with a pretty harbour and several small restaurants. A little further afield is Guarachico, a picturesque Spanish village with lots of nice restaurants. Icod itself has a quite scenic centre with lots of restaurants and a Drago tree which is over 1000 years old and quite impressive. An excellent base if you like walking and sight seeing. Maxine and the owner Sally were both very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

Wonderfully relaxing, stylish and comfortable villa

Spacious, modernized, stylish, comfortable and well equipped villa. Great location if you are looking for seclusion and quiet but still close to the amenities of Puerto De La Cruz. This is an ideal property for a romantic getaway (just my wife and I), but would also be ideal for a couple with young children. The garden is very private and secluded but enjoys sunshine the whole day through. The pool was lovely although not heated so swimming was a “bracing” experience in March, even with the sun shining. For us the location was ideal as we wanted somewhere close to the town but not so close as to feel hemmed in or near the touristy hustle and bustle. We had a car with us which was ideal for getting to the supermercado and for sightseeing but we also walked a lot in to town and to local bars, restaurants and parks. Be aware that Puerto De La Cruz is very hilly so if you aren’t up for walking then you will definitely need a car for this property. All in all a five star experience.
