Make A Holiday Rental Apartment in Pájara, Fuerteventura, Your Home Away From Home

Pájara is a municipality located in the south-west section of the Canary Island of Fuerteventura. Life is a little more laid-back on Fuerteventura than it is on some of the other Canary Islands, and it is for this reason that some people choose to stay in a holiday rental apartment in Pájara. Surrounded by all the comforts of home, but in an exotic setting, a holiday in Pájara is the perfect way to escape from the stresses of every day life, and lap up the sun in a relaxed atmosphere.

Things to Do on Holiday in Pájara, Fuerteventura

Even if the object of a holiday in Pájara is to relax and unwind, there are still a number of activities that can be tried if so desired. The coast provides all manner of water-based fun, where swimming, snorkelling, windsurfing and kayaking are all possible. With a vehicle, other parts of the island can be easily reached, and this means that golf, climbing, hiking and cycling can also be tried.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Pájara, Fuerteventura

There are many places of interest to visit from the self catering accommodation in Pájara, although the use of a car is all but essential. In fact, it could be quite possible to drive around the island in a day, and certainly one or more excursions along the beautiful coastline are to be recommended. A trip to the pretty village of La Olivia will reveal a stunning church and friendly village; and heading to the north at Corralejo, one can see the dunes and even go out on a tour to see the dolphins at sea.

Weather in Pájara, Fuerteventura

The weather in Pájara is excellent all the year around, with barely 150mm of rain falling during the entire 12 months. During the summer months, average daily highs can be around 30 degrees Celsius, and the lows around 20 degrees. During the winter, the daily highs are 20 degrees, and the lows 15 degrees. This means that it is possible to go on holiday in Pájara at any time of year, and indeed, many Europeans choose to go during the winter months to escape the cold back home.

Travel to Pájara, Fuerteventura

Most people (unless they are one of the lucky few to arrive by yacht!), will need to fly into Fuerteventura to begin their holiday in Pájara. Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) is situated just 3 km outside of the capital of Puerto del Rosario. It is quite a busy place, and accepts flights from most European countries. Travellers from the UK have their pick of flights such as Easyjet flying out of London Gatwick (LGW) and Ryanair flying out of London Stansted (STN). Car rental is available at the airport, but is better organised beforehand.

Excellent apartment with terrific sea views

4 of 5
We stayed at the Playa Paraiso 2 bed apartment for 11 nights in early September 2017. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday, and found the apartment to be very well equipped. The main selling point when chosing this apartment over others was the stunning sea views, and we were not disappointed! People considering booking should be aware that the apartment complex is quite isolated, being 2 or 3km outside of Costa Calma itself. Car hire is more or less essential for getting about. It is also at the end of a lengthy dirt track off of the main road that we found to be exceptionally rough in parts, with speeds of less than 5kph being necessary in parts, unless you have an off road vehicle. The apartment itself was very nice. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need for self-catering. The fridge/freezer is nice and spacious, with lots of room for keeping drinks cool. Also equipped with ice blocks for supplementing your own cool bags. We made use of the washing machine too, so it would not be necessary to pack clothes for every single day of your stay without a wash. The local beaches are all excellent. There can often be a steady breeze blowing across the beaches which can help to keep you cool, but do make it a challenge to secure parasols if you need some shade. (Two beach parasols were in the apartment for guests use). The climb back up to the apartment afterwards requires a certain degree of fitness, as it took us over 10 minutes of steady climbing. The swimming pool area was nice and clean. It was fairly quiet whilst we stayed there in September, with there often being only 6 or so people around - no problem getting sunbeds. We often had the pool to ourselves. There are no parasols around the pool, probably because it can be quite breezy, and there is little natural shade available, so be prepared to soak up the rays if spending time around the pool. Our only real complaint with our stay was that we could not get the apartment WiFi working. There was a monthly data limit that the previous occupants had exceeded, so the service provider had cut-off the service. Despite several communications with the owner, Leslie, and assurances that it had been sorted, we never did get it working. Seemingly, a top-up payment made by Leslie just went to off-setting the previous over usage. I understand Leslie will be looking to install unlimited data usage sometime in the future. This would definitely be an improvement.
