Our stay in Colin’s apartment gave us everything we could wish for and more in a holiday let. The apartment is compact but incredibly well-equipped. There is a good, powerful shower, kitchen with full range of appliances and utensils, comfortable double bed, plenty of storage space and a lovely spacious, sheltered balcony. There is also a nice living/dining area with dining table, sofa, good TV with UK channels and a DVD player with selection of DVDs, however we didn’t have the desire to even switch the TV on because we enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and taking in the views to either side so much. In addition to this, you will find a plentiful supply of books to read and everything you might need for a day on the beach (wind breaks, parasols, cool bags, beach towels, bats and balls and even body boards)! Colin made us feel so welcome from the moment he met us outside the apartment to the moment we left. On arrival we found a plentiful supply of water, milk, tea, coffee, juice, beer, wine and even a couple of bottles of bubbly! As others have mentioned, access to the apartment involves taking a lift to the top of the apartment block in front and going across a joining walkway but this really isn’t a problem. The building in front does obscure the view immediately ahead of the balcony, but look slightly to the left and you have a wonderful view of the beach, lighthouse and salt marshes. Thoroughly recommend the apartment as a very comfortable base for exploring the island and if you just want to spend your holiday relaxing in the sun, the local beach is one of the best we visited!
